Zitouni Restaurant — Restaurant in Malé

This place, back when it was Cibo, had THE best food at the MOST amazing prices.

Now it’s been rebranded to Zitouni, with the same menu and staff (minus a few additions and subtractions), but the most significantly, an increase in prices.

The items that remained in the menu still have the same amazing taste, but the pricing also affects the taste (and most certainly the wallet) so much so that I’ve gone from eating here almost everyday (like dining in or taking out almost 15 to 20 days a month) to only eating here once or twice a week.

I was in this cafe on December 26, 2024 before flying home. I was looking for a cafe where I could sit comfortably and beautifully, with a more European atmosphere and with Wi-Fi: it was not so easy to find one! I had to walk around the area for 20-30 minutes. Overall, I liked everything, although the food was a bit spicy for me, but I was very hungry 😄 I took lemonade with passion fruit, Caesar salad and a sandwich to go, a little less spicy would have been ideal. I've been a regular customer, visiting this place for lunch every day. However, in recent days, I've noticed a decline in both the quality of the food and the attitude of the staff. On several occasions, I've observed that the food is no longer fresh. Most recently, I ordered their signature dish, Zitouni Chicken, which was served cold, and the chicken was bloody on the inside.
