Very badly served from the chef at il bacino in birgu. We were four people and a child , one of us ordered a starter, the rest of us a main course only. Main courses arrived when the one with the starter was half way through. We ordered 3 tagliatas and a ribeye. One had to be medium, one medium well and the other well-done. Ribeye had to have porcini sauce. We accepted one plate out of four. Ribeye was returned as starter was not yet finished. All three tagliata were served Medium rare with blood literally running in the plate. Since one of us likes Medium rare even if she ordered Medium accepted the plate even if not as ordered, ended up saying it was good but cold. No side dishes were served to the only one who accepted the dish. The three other plates arrived with sides dishes as the one that accepted main course finished. Ribeye was heated with no sauce, two tagliata were good but a little cold but let's say they were ok....we asked to speak to the manager with our multiple complains, Lazar a very sweet Serbian guy. He understood our complains perfectly and was apologizing for the bad service. He took the ribeye back, shortly after the chef came out to see what's wrong. We told him exactly what was wrong with everything and now the heated cold ribeye. He was very arrogant and told us that medium ribeye should be served body temperature and we were not educated enough in cooking. He didn't go to school for nothing he said, to which we answered that it's surely not our first night out. As soon as the chef left I searched for the correct temperature a meduim ribeye should be served, according to Google it should be served at 160F, body temperature is 98F. Medium ribeye finally came with again no porcini sauce. My mother couldn't even chew it! We again spoke to the manager and he offered my mum another meal, to which we declined since it was the same chef, he even offered her to do a pizza himself ! My mother thanked Lazar but declined the offer as by now it was already late to start waiting again. We than ordered coffee and a scoop of ice cream, manager came with them again apologizing and told us they will be on the house. He even gave us a further 20% discount. So thank you Lazar for handling the situation very well, it's unfortunate to have a restaurant with such a nice view, but with an arrogant and incompetent chef! He spoiled our Friday night out, everyone ended eating alone on one table! We were there around 6pm and nobody else was there yet , so dear incompetent chef you cannot even say you were busy because you surely were not! You should go and have an anger...

What a big disappointment. First and last time I will be going here or recomending it to anyone. Everything seemed fine til we ordered everything. Waited 15 minutes and then our starter came before our drinks?! Then we asked for our drinks and they came and these things happen so just thought a small slip up had happened. As we literally just got our wine and started to have the first piece of our starter. They brought our main course Luke warm half way through. It showed it had been left on side for a long time as it was practically cold. I mentioned to the waiter we were not ready .. he was just blank and put the plates down Infront of us... then l noticed the cutley had not even be changed to a new one. I understand we picked a table that had been used before but why didn't she change the cutley in the bags when she came to wash the table. I only realised cause there was no tissues in the pockets and cutley was mismatched. The waiter took them and made it obviouse and changed our cutley with another table. I'm sorry but we re currently in a pandemic !! Basic Hygiene. As we explained this to waitress when she asked if all is well. She was shocked. It would been fine if the service was rubbish and food was atleast good but to finish it off food was really rubbish!! I feel like I got robbed. Honestly big shame cause the view was amazing the only good thing and the wine we picked cause can't mess that up lol honestly I wouldn't even Give it a one star.. BIG SHAME.. I'm honestly not one to complain this first time commenting on a...

Visited the restaurant on the 23rd of November. Leaving this rating not for the original person who took my orders and served me cocktail; but for the uncouth human(also happens to be the same person who waits at the gelateria at Il bacino, with a can’t miss tattoo) who brought my food and asked me if I needed a cutlery. Even when it was obvious there wasn’t any on the table. Didn’t also bother to ask if I needed anything else..just dropped the food and left.

I approached and asked why they had asked if I needed a cutlery, and they told me …they wanted to know if the other waiter had brought a cutlery, and it wasn’t their job to be serving ..they were only doing a favor for the other waiter and I should have said thank you. Cos there’s no way they’d know I had not received cutleries.

Now my own perspective, how am I supposed to know who is supposed to serve and who isn’t..you all belong to the same restaurant, have same uniforms, aren’t you taking the same training to be nice to customers and at least ask if they needed anything.

Really terrible behaviour, and not one apology from either of the staff or management, one just stood there looking.

I was going to ignore the fact that the cocktail I ordered was horrible, and the first pasta on the menu had me just emptying sachets of salt and pepper to make it more palatable.

I do hope that individual is put into more training on how to be a better server, and don’t come ruining peoples mood and holiday with your bad behaviour. If you don’t like...

Visited this place on Mother's Day. They were only offering a special set menu for the occasion at €40p.p. which we accepted. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially considering that the weather was not ideal, jeopardising the ample and picturesque outside area that this place boasts. The food was ok but nowhere near the standard of all the other restaurants at Birgu waterfront and certainly not what you would expect for the mentioned price tag. The food portion for the kid's menu was ample although the beef burger was the plainest possible, with only the patty and the bun. With all the good competition around at Birgu waterfront, this place needs to up it's game if it wants to be taken seriously.

On a Sunday evening, the three of us came here to eat. We sat in the Saloon, which is very spacious. Everything is decorated in accordance with the Wild West theme, which appealed to us. However, the chairs were not as comfortable as they looked. The food was delicious. It arrived promptly and was hot. Both the BBQ Chicken Wings and the Meatballs were very tasty, and as appetizers, they were also sufficient as a small main course. The Pulled Pork Burger was delicious. The side dishes of fries and coleslaw are also recommended. However, the fries could have been a bit crispier and more seasoned. Therefore, only 4*. All in all, this restaurant is highly recommended!
