On our crazy last day in Malta, we had our last meal at Novita. It's surreal all the coincidences and adventures we had on that day, but Novita was the perfect place to end our culinary trip on.
Unbeknownst to us, September 8th was Victory day in Malta, so while visiting the Three Cities, we found out through all the celebrations that it was a Maltese national holiday. Plus, there was a boat competition between the Three Cities AND to add to all those festivities, there was a feast celebrated only in Senglea. Thus, Novita had a special menu due to the ongoing feast (shorter menu, but excellent choices nonetheless). Looking back, good thing the menu was shorter or it would have been impossible for us to pick (there was too many tempting dishes). With a lot of help from our waitress, we settled for the crispy octopus and burrata, then had the tuna tataki and the linguine al tartare di gambero rosso (shrimp tartare linguine). We had two desserts even though we were stuffed (it was too hard to only pick one from their exhaustive selection): pistachio cheesecake (homemade each morning) and the pistachio semifreddo (many other flavours available). Cocktails were also very good, long list to chose from with original creations.
The linguine with the shrimp tartare was by far my favorite. Although all the dishes were exquisite and flavourful, the shrimp tartare in pasta was so original and all the flavours complemented each other so well. My stomach aches for another plate of that dish. What stood out even more than the food was the phenomenal service. Our waitress is clearly S-tier. She knows all the dishes by heart and explains it clearly to each new guest that were seated as we noticed over the night. The restaurant got crowded and she still managed like a queen, providing excellent service at all time. She was also kind enough to stop us from ordering too much, we were torn by the amazing varieties and dishes offered, but she guided us well.
Long story short, just come and enjoy the view, the great service and delicious food. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to come back at my next...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Novita restaurant in Senglea for lunch and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. Firstly, the location of the restaurant is stunning. It is situated right on the waterfront, offering breathtaking views of the Grand Harbour. The outdoor seating area is perfect for a sunny day, with a light breeze and the sound of the water adding to the ambiance. The staff at Novita were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They made us feel right at home and were happy to offer recommendations from their extensive menu. Speaking of the menu, it was filled with a variety of delicious options that cater to different dietary preferences. I was impressed by the selection of fresh seafood dishes. For my main course, I ordered the lobster tortelloni and I must say, it was one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the lobster filling was rich and flavorful. It was clear that the ingredients used were of high quality and the dish was beautifully presented. I also couldn't resist trying the pistachio cheese cake for dessert and I was not disappointed. The combination of the creamy cheese and the crunch of the pistachio was a perfect balance of flavors. It was the perfect end to a fantastic meal. Overall, I would highly recommend Novita restaurant for a lunch experience. The food, service, and setting were all top-notch and made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes...
