It's been a long while since we've been able to enjoy the best Chinese on the island, and it was worth the wait. Like Sapana Indian in Xlendi, it is very difficult to walk past Xin Yun without being tempted inside by the mouthwatering Asian smells. As ever, the service is second to none, with any question never too much trouble. The extremely extensive menu has something for everyone, including vegetarians and vegans. The handmade spring rolls and dumplings are to die for and the mains, rice and noodles are very generously portioned and full of flavour. The Jia Chang Pork was perfectly seasoned and spiced and the Sir Fired Tofu and Vegetables was delicious and could have easily fed four, the egg fried rice and curried noodles likewise. They expect you to ask for a doggy bag, so don't be shy. We'll be eating Xin Yun for another two days for sure. Looking forward to trying something from the fish menu next time. Thank you for a lovely evening. Coming back soon...
Read moreThe service was great and the staff did their best to accommodate our group with kids.
The food was just simply horrible and if you’re looking for a more authentic taste, this is not the place.
The choice of rice is probably the worse. The flavoring of all the dishes was either sweet and salty or just cheap soy sauce salty and more salt on top.
The sizzling beef also comes with an extra flavor of completely charred meat.
To top it off, we witnessed a giant cockroach crawling up my partner’s leg. Luckily it was crushed into splattered goo after 10 mins of it hiding between the wine glasses.
Other people from our group who came later were very happy but my recommendation for the kitchen staff is to maybe to taste the food they make as I can’t imagine they would otherwise...
Read moreNOT RECOMMENDED FOR NATIVE CHINESE!!! I came here with a native Chinese and he got a bit disappointed because the food wasn't that good for his taste, for me it was good but for example the rice I can say that it wasn't the same as the one you can eat in China. So I can only say that if you are a foreign and want to have a taste of some Asian food this restaurant it's ok for you but if you're a native Chinese or someone that really knows about Chinese food maybe you should consider other restaurant. P.S.: They have a fork and a knife for you to eat the food but in case you want chopsticks you can also ask for them, it would've been better if they asked what I wanted to use or have both in the table...
