Due to the good ratings at Google Maps we have made a reservation.
It was difficult to understand the Lady who has picked up our call.
When arriving you need to climb up a Spiral Staircase to enter this Restaurant.
So it seems to be almost impossible to get inside if you are handicapped and can't walk.
When entering the Restaurant we haven't received a warm welcome.
A grumpy und unfriendly Lady with brown hair wearing glasses let us wait to get a table although there was a free clean table.
But she has cleaned a different table at the windows with a view at the Port and Market on this Sunday. Soon we got the Menu and Wine list. In addition 3 meals as a Special of the day were displayed on a board.
We ordered at the female Boss (?) Seabass (20 €) and SWORDFISH (23 €) with vegetables and French fries ( chips). A big bottle of water was charged with 3,50 € and Coke with 2 €. I have informed the Lady that I want to get my Swordfish juicy and not dry.
When we got served I saw that my piece of SWORDFISH was 5 cm (!!) high and not looking like a normal slice of SWORDFISH like it is served worldwide.
The result was that at the edges the SWORDFISH was dry and well-done. In the middle of the piece it was quite okay.
It was served with Haricot beans which I know from British Breakfast.
But the combination with this fish I have never received although I am eating daily worldwide in a Restaurant. The taste of the Seabass was good. After finishing our meals nobody of the staff has removed the dishes from our table. This was interesting to see because there are three young helpers who have passed our table 10 times but they haven't stopped and cared. After almost 15 minutes we have stopped one and asked him to remove the dishes from our table.
Nobody including him has asked us about our satisfaction or for ordering anything else like a dessert or coffee.
So we have stopped one and ordered 2 scoopes of Vanilla ice-cream and one more drink.
Within a very short time the so named ice-cream was served. Half of it was already melted!! Nowhere I have had this experience!
The AC was only working partly with the effect that other guests have opened the window to get fresh air.
Plastic flowers on the table was put for decoration.
I was able to pay with Visa-Card.
I cannot recommend...
Read moreA beautiful new restaurant recently opened in the heart of Marsaxlokk.
The modern yet tasteful decor is very welcoming and provides a perfect blend of sophistication and calmness.
A beautiful menu has a superb choice of exquisite dishes on offer and more upmarket than the usual Marsaxlokk restaurants offer.
The food arrived beautifully presented and was extremely delicious.
Our choice for our first (and certainly not last) visit consisted of a complimentary appetiser of a chilli fish pate and crackers followed by a starter of -
Fish Ceviche (Cured Seabass, Avacado mash, Cucumber Pickle, Raddish and Pickle). And a large bowl of Fresh Mussels with a basket of Maltese bread (Hobz).
For Mains we had -
Scallop & Prawn Ravioli (Scallop & Prawn filled Ravioli, Cherry Tomato, soft herbs and a Prawn Bisque. Swordfish (grilled Swordfish on a haricot, kale and sausage cassoulet) this is also served with a choice of chips or roast potatoes, I declined the side as the portion was large enough for me.
A delicious bottle of 2018 Herederos Del Marques De Riscal Rioja accompanied our meal perfectly.
Overall an exceptionally good meal with friendly service and at €83 I consider this...
Read moreThe restaurant is located in the heart of the town. There is a nice view at the port out of the restaurant. We decided to visit this restaurant because of a high rating. But the restaurant is overrated and we left being disappointed. We booked a table in advanced. No or cold welcome upon our arrival. The menu is quite ok, some daily offers on the board, pizza menu was presented. No fresh fish or catch of the day was presented, just what is listed on the menu was available. Sea bass charged 20.- euro. Fresh, good taste. There could be less salt for my taste in the spinach. I can recommend it. Sword fish ( prepared in the oven) charged 23.- euro served with haricots was not good enough. We cannot recommend it. The presentation was poor. Fresh? Difficult to judge. The two meals were accompanied with: fresh salad; -French fries; grilled vegetables. The side dishes were good. The ice-cream is offered: 3.50 per scoop. We ordered two. The scoops were small and the ice cream was served warm: cream soup. Awful. Overpriced. I cannot recommend it.
The service is inattentive nor qualified, unfriendly in addition. Nobody asked us if we were satisfied. We paid the...
