I booked through booking.com and the whole process was flawless. The host Andrew was extremely responsive to queries on the platform. When it got time to check in, it was a little unconventional to ring the buzzer on the intercom, be buzzed in and see everything with my name on the desk. It would appear the front desk is manned mainly in the mornings. When you check out just drop off the key cards in the drop bin at the front desk. ||We had room 34 which was the quadruple room even though there were only two of us but the room is ideal for families. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean almost spotless. The bathroom was a shower cubicle and slightly on the smaller side. There was also nice touch from our hosts in which I had got a bottle of water and Maltese wine! ||Breakfast was served on the fourth floor terrace and you had nice views of the harbour. The breakfast was fine being a spread of boiled eggs, baked beans, pastizzi, cold cuts and cheese. Staff were very friendly and helpful as well. ||If you’re renting driving or renting car there is street parking but there is a big parking area near the football ground on the edge of town about a five minute walk away. I parked there and just brought car to the guesthouse entrance to load and unload. ||For me, it was definitely to best place to stay in Marsaxlokk. My stay was flawless and comfortable with only little bit of feedback would be is to perhaps get the windows washed on the terrace as it does mar the view a little bit. Would definitely come back here when I visit...
Read moreIt's been our first time in Malta and we be been looking for book such accommodation which would be in between the standard hotel and a private apartment. And the Portview guest house has turned to be the best choice that we could do.
First of all this is because of location. Marsaxlokk is the small old city of Malta with authentic atmosphere, and the guest house is situated in the very center of it. This hotel also can boast the greatest view on the city embankment from its terrace.
The second moment is hospitality and friendly environment. Both Carmel and Andrew Azzopardi are very adequate and intelligent people, who are very pleasant to communicate to and deal with. They hold the exact balance of closeness and respect to privacy.
The third is the convenience. Our Standard Quadruple Room is equipped with a small fridge and a hair dryer. They also have given us us an electric adapter right after our check-in. The Portvew hotel supplies the huge amount of towels of different sizes and they change them daily. The room is cleaned everyday as well.
The breakfast is ok - there is some reasonable variety of food which allows you to follow any non strict diet. But if you feel it is not enough, you can use all the facilities including the microwave oven all day long, and be quite independant in your nutrition plans. Bottled still water, instant coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a kettle are also available there all the time without any...
Read moreWe arrived at the bnb around 20:30, we had booked two nights at Port View based on reviews and guide book recommendations! |We booked last available room, as this trip was a last minute decision! |As we arrived late our room key had been left for us to collect at reception after being buzzed in, all this was super easy. |Our room happened to be a quadruple room, so we had plenty of space and a pleasant little balcony with a partial view of the harbour, although front facing view was just of derelict ground. |The room was excellent, absolutely pristinely clean, bathroom was great, nice shower and great water pressure.|Complimentary water & wine in the room were a lovely thought, and much appreciated! Breakfast was basic but decent, breads, packaged pastries, cereal and cold cuts etc served on the 4th floor covered terrace with pretty view! |We were happy with the amount of time we chose to stay in Marsaxlokk as there isn’t a great deal to do in this particular area, (we were on a multi-stop trip) so we feel that staying over the weekend was definitely a good decision, and we were very happy with our two nights at the Port...
