Tourist trap. I would not recommend.
We were in the area for the Sunday Festa so the majority of places were closed or fully booked so we ended up stopping here for a quick drink and bite to eat.
Firstly; HYGIENE! There was a hair in my drink, which was replaced after pointing it out. We could also see the waiters often scratching and touching their hair and not a bottle of sanitiser in sight, which is concerning in this day & age.
Secondly; Food Quality! Probably the worst food we’d ever eaten in Malta. Bruschetta was dry with hardly any tomato. The Calamari Fritti was soggy and tasteless and the kids chicken tenders were cold in the middle.
Thirdly; Customer Service = non-existent. When we arrived it was ok, but after raising concerns about the food, the waiter argued with us and wouldn’t accept what we were saying and was blatantly rude to myself and the rest of my party. We then had to escalate the complaint further inside the restaurant, as this waiter was not acting in a cooperative manner.
After some back & forth, they eventually agreed to deduct some items off the bill.
All in all, terrible experience. Don’t get sucked in by the al fresco location on...
Read moreReally nice place to eat, right next to the ocean with a beautifull and colorfull view. The service was amazing, although I felt lured in while reading a nearby sign, I was going to see the other options but they where presistent, so I gave in when I saw the couple's dish.
It's a dish with 3 different types of fish. Swordfish, Neagre and Grouper. I am born and raised on an Caribbean Island and I know my fish.
If I would rate the fish in order: 1st is Swordfish, tasted really good! I'm not sure what spices they used, but waw, so good, add some lemon! 2nd is Grouper, it tasted good, nothing too special. 3rd is Neagre, it tasted very bland, fishy...and that's it. No kick, just fishy. I added salt, pepper and lemon. After I did that I enjoyed it.
All the fished where soft and tender! Really easy to eat, but don't take huge bites, there are fish bones in there!
The side dish was fries and a salad...The salad was lettuce, tomato and onions, standard.
All in all, AMAZING location and great service. AMAZING Swordfish, the rest was good to average to mehhhh. Nothing was bad, maybe I just expect to much as...
Read moreMe and my friend decided on this place for lunch after strolling Marsaxlokk for a while. My friend ordered half a bottle of wine for himself and was brought 2 glasses, told the waiter he only needed one glass, then the waiter brought another glass so he then had 3 glasses instead of just the one. Anyway this just the start! We ordered the seafood platter which took over 45 minutes and was not even hot when it arrived. Anyway, after telling the waiter and then being referred to the owner, who both denied any wrong doing, the chef then got involved saying it couldn't of possibly taken 45 minutes and it could not possibly of been cold when it arrived haha unbelievable! This place survives for two reasons, 1 - its location, 2 - the annoying waiter who tries to speak to passers by trying to get them to eat there....
