Al Ponte Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Mellieha

Me and my boyfriend came bevor few days in Malleiha/Malta. We booked apartment,thats why we eat outside everyday and this Restaurant Al Ponte in Mariot Hotel(in front of the Church)it's the best place to be!!!We came around 21:00 and wonted just to eat something.We were served like VIP and the quality of food and service were perfekt.We had Pizza and Seefood,some Garlic Bread,Dessers and everything came so fast and it was amazing fresh and delisious,the prises just normal. We were served from Mr.Igor and he gave us special feeling,he came after every order to check if we are happy,if everything is ok.Mr.Igor was very profesional with his job and the way he win us as a gasts! We are sleeping in one 4stars Hotel not far from Restourant Il Ponte,but we are sure that we will visit the nice Restaurant again in the next days.If we diside to visit again Malta we are also sure that we will visit that Restaurant again and we will deffinetly recomend it! Nice experiense in Malta-nice Place,nice view,nice food,perfekt and proffesional service....

During our stay at the Maritim Antonine Hotel, we went to Al Ponte Restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately , it was a bad experience for us. The staff (dressed in white) was very friendly and helpful. But the one dressed in blue (the manager?) became very rude when we left the restaurant after complaining several times about the long waiting time. We saw that customers who entered the restaurant after us, finished eating their food while we were still waiting for ours. After sitting more than 80 minutes in the restaurant, without receiving any of our dishes, we decided to leave. Instead of apologizing, the manager (dressed in blue) responded very unprofessional to us. He was rude and tried to convince us in a nervous way that we didn’t wait long. This restaurant was the only one during the 1,5 weeks holiday in Malta with that bad experience. And especially because of the way the ‘manager’ speaks to his customers, I really do not recommend this place to eat. Mellieha (and the other cities in Malta) has a lot of better restaurants with customer friendly staff and acceptable...

We went to Al Ponte for dinner last night and it was a disappointing experience overall. Once our order had been taken it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive - we had ordered a pizza and a calzone. Considering Al Ponte is meant to be a pizza restaurant it was very poor. My partner's calzone was served with the pastry still raw and cheese unmelted when he cut into it. The tomato sauce it was served with was ice cold. I ordered a pizza which could have done with longer in the oven and much less salt. We would have attempted to flag down a member of staff to let them know but they didn't once approach our table again once we had been served so we didn't get a chance. When we had both picked at whatever was edible on our plate, we asked for the bill. It took a further 15 minutes and flagging down two members of staff for us to even be able to pay. I wouldn't recommend Al Ponte to those visiting Mellieha. There are plenty of restaurants in the area that put care into their food and service. Al Ponte is not...
