LUNA Restaurant at Palazzo Parisio – stunning setting, but food disappoints Palazzo Parisio holds a special place in our hearts. Over the years, we’ve come here with family, friends, and even staff for everything from casual meals to special occasions, drawn by the charm and beauty that make this venue so special. The gardens alone are worth the visit. They’re immaculately maintained, tranquil, and simply breathtaking. The staff at LUNA are a credit to Palazzo Parisio—consistently kind, professional, and always going out of their way to ensure a wonderful experience. While the setting and staff are impeccable, LUNA’s food has never been its strongest suit. The menu over the years has leaned toward confusing rather than cohesive—offering an odd mix of dishes that often don’t complement one another. From Wiener Schnitzel to other dishes that don’t quite hit the mark, the selections feel more like a scattered collection of ideas than a thoughtfully curated offering. Unfortunately, today’s brunch was no exception to this pattern. The menu completely missed the essence of brunch—an indulgent mix of breakfast and lunch dishes, with variety and creativity. Instead, it felt like a hastily put-together breakfast/lunch menu with uninspired options. Smoked Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese Bagel The bagel was unfortunately hard and dry, giving the impression it wasn’t fresh, while the salmon appeared to be of lower quality than expected. Vegetarian Crespelle (V) This dish missed the mark, with a heavy mixture of béchamel, cheese, and what seemed to be asparagus. The béchamel had a distinctly store-bought flavor, which unfortunately detracted from the overall experience. Beer and Saffron-Battered Sea Bream The fish itself was bland, paired with a pea purée and remoulade that didn’t feel freshly made. The side of french fries added little to elevate the dish. Desserts After this underwhelming meal, we decided to skip dessert. Options like French pastries, pancakes, or pumpkin-cinnamon pie didn’t strike us as particularly imaginative or appealing, and we weren’t inspired to continue. Brunch should be a delightful blend of breakfast and lunch—a mix of sweet and savory options, fresh flavors, and approachable yet elevated dishes. Instead, LUNA’s menu felt disjointed, heavy, and completely missed the essence of what brunch should be. While we’ve been loyal patrons for years and while that will not change, it’s clear that LUNA needs a serious overhaul—not just for their brunch but for their overall menu. The dishes often miss the mark, feel disjointed, and lack a cohesive culinary vision. A venue this beautiful deserves a thoughtfully curated menu and chefs who can truly do it justice. The garden pictures in this review were taken some weeks ago when the weather was warmer—unfortunately, the brunch experience didn’t inspire us to take photos.

Avoid if going on your own! If going on your own you get second class treatment. Decided to treat myself to nice Valentines afternoon, but should have gone somewhere else. When entered I asked for table to eat and preferred table under the sun, which was not available. When asked if any will come available soon I was informed that in 20 minutes table for 2 will be available. I asked if I can have a drink and wait and when that table will be available they will inform me to which the manager agreed. 15 minutes later I watched the couple to leave that table and said manager thanking them for their visit and for next 20 minutes the table stayed empty, until a couple came and this very same manager gave them table which he agreed to give me. What a shameful behaviour, especially on a Valentine's day and especially from a place which is trying to present itself as a classy place. Such behaviour is unacceptable and as a company event organiser I will make sure for this place to be excluded from my events, but also from events in my wide events organising network.

Very disappointed. Staff did not look at us, never, we always needed to stand up and look for them. Not friendly and stressed. Food was not fresh (for sure of yesterday or even before)…. We asked to show the plate to the cook, it was unacceptable. The presentation was nice, but the true is that food was definitely not good.
