Ribs House by The Brew — Restaurant in Naxxar

I’ve always loved BBQ ribs, and I’d been seeing ads for this place for a while. I was curious to try it but a little hesitant, since I’ve had amazing Louisiana-style ribs back in the USA — the true mecca of ribs. Well, we finally gave it a go — and came back a second time!

Location & Ambience Right in the heart of Naxxar, next to the church — just a few minutes’ walk from home (a blessing… and a danger for my diet 😄). The restaurant is set across three floors of a converted house, with a cozy indoor dining area and two terraces, including a rooftop with a fantastic view of the church. The whole place has a charming rustic style that ties everything together — from the décor to the music and the food.

Service & Atmosphere The staff are friendly, polite, and know their menu well — it’s a pleasure to be served by them. The background rock music matches the rustic, down-to-earth vibe perfectly. The menu is simple but well chosen, fitting the character of the place.

Food On our first visit, I had American-style BBQ ribs while my wife had pork with mushrooms and sauerkraut. The ribs were tasty (just a touch on the dry side) and my wife really enjoyed her dish. On our second visit, I tried nachos with pulled pork and she had sea bream — both excellent!

Portions & Overall Experience Generous portions, delicious food, and a rustic atmosphere where everything — food, ambience, and music — works in harmony. Definitely a must-visit in Naxxar if you love good BBQ and a relaxed,...

The venue is great BUT… the service needs a lot of work , the tables are packed way too tightly so I was sitting back to back to a total stranger just so the management could pack in a couple of tables more. We were a group of 8 , it was very hot notwithstanding being on the roof top , the tables were initially not lit and eventually the put one tiny table lamp per table so it was still gloomy. The staff tried but they were run off their feet, food was good but not great, it took ages and drinks were forgotten, repeated, wrong drinks etc. Also the Rib portions were small; forget a full rack or half rack…. At best it was a small half rack of a tiny animal!! Desert was only 2choices and by that time we’d been seated for so long that no one dared order desert or coffee as God knows how long that would have taken, so we just asked for our bill, paid ( and tipped 10%) and left. The so called manager is arrogant and rude ! I had called Wednesday to reserve a table - when I arrived he ignored me completely when I was trying to tell him !

The ribs were dry !! One plate came with out chips and had to be sent back as they forgot to plate them , nachos made with low cost cheese and full of jalapeño peppers and a tiny container of guacamole , nothing else tasteless !

I left 95% of my food !!! Lipstick stained water class !

The lift isn’t child friendly no doors once you are in ! God forbid a small child slips into the gap !
