Nice quaint place however as soon as I entered bar for the first time there was a strong smell of toilets and public restrooms. Not a great choice of food, only platters which are very expensive for what is served. Food was good, but not great. Waiters were very friendly and helpful yet quite inexperienced.. Edit: Answer to manager's reply: I am unaware of the facts and it's good to know that you have a high standard of hygiene in your establishment yet the uninviting smell was definitely present..it might not have been from your bar but the smell was inside and quite strong. I felt it unnecessary to bring this to any of the staffs attention because since I considered the smell a strong one I thought staff was aware and decided to open bar as it was. You have competitive prices for platters because platters usually ARE overpriced yet they need not be. As regards flavour as I said good but nothing amazing and the portions were not great either (considering the platter is between two and I am not one to expect a giant plate when I eat out either..). I am aware the establishment is a bar and not a restaurant as I have mentioned in my review itself, my review considers a comparison with other wine bars. I do not believe your menu offers much variety nor originality, in fact a lot of people ended up choosing the same platter when ordering for the first time, implying that the other dishes were not as competitively inviting. All in all, it's a nice place for a drink and to organize group parties etc. It was enough for me that the only (two) waiters present were friendly although evidently inpexperienced (I had come in July). I enjoyed my time there nonetheless, and I would come again if I knew there wouldn't be the smell which is my greatest issue especially while you eat..When I am truly happy with a place I always give a 5 star review but when I am not, I try to give my truthful opinion. I am not seen as a harsh...
Read moreMy partner and I recently holidayed in Malta and were at a loss for evening meals, until we stumbled upon The Old Charm! Nestled in a beautiful location, we found the menu to be a great mix of local and foreign food. The Owner was very friendly and took great pride in his business. The property was very traditional Maltese and meticulously maintained which allowed for a romantic meal complimented by a great wine selection and fabulous service. The food was delicious and enabled us to sample a mix of cuisine, exploring new and familiar without ever...
Read moreIt was a charming old building but poorly arranged and decorated. They kept a big fridge in the dining room. Looking like a fast food area. The menu has a bizarre combination, Italian and Indian. They didn’t separate them to make it clear. We ordered Indian. The korma was nice but Palek Penir was completely tasteless, the poorest I have tried ( this is my favourite Idian dish). The portions were very small and we were not really full with a salad, two mains, bread and rice. It was quite pricey for the size of...
