If i could have given it 0 stars I would since this restaurant is supposed to be a fine dining chinese restaurant but is a shame for the price i paid. What i have to say is not gonna be good! Exaggerated prices for food just for you to have an idea, one can of pearona which is selling at around Rs45 in supermarkets, you can have it there for Rs198. The cocktail prices starts around Rs598 atleast you would expect a decent glass of cocktail but let me tell you the glasses they serve in is a joke!
I went there with my husband and we ordered the half portion duck which was quite average and priced at rs 1298 approx. we got around 15 sheets of rice paper with the roasted duck and maybe 8 pieces of sliced carrots, chives and cucumber, nearly enough. On top of that if you want another portion of the vegetables, it will cost you Rs 298 as add on.
we also ordered saho foon angus beef. When it was served, smelled so smoky however the taste was literally like a 2/10 and i am being generous (price a shocking rs 878). The sao foon was not even cooked properly, the bottom part was still white and still sticky while being bland in total. The beef was only portioned at the top and nothing at the bottom apart from our disappointment. We ordered 2 mocktails, they literally tasted like ceres apple juice but priced at Rs438 each!
Total for 2 persons, 2 dishes and 2 mocktails Rs 3,042. Save your money and go enjoy dinner or lunch with your friends you will pay way less at thai food gang or royal choice restaurant.
ATMOSPHERE/Ambiance : It is at the top of a car showroom and there were lots of kids on that night who were opening all the car doors and banging them without any care. Also entering the cars playing inside and all without any intervention from the parents or any adults/car supervisors. Which evebtually turned the showroom into their playing ground.
Overall experience at Opium is a solid 2/10. While still being generous But honestly never recomending any one...
Read moreYou get to walk through an AUDI showroom before you get to the restaurant.... ( dont know how that matters in a review but just putting it out there for those people who keep thinking they could be lost!)
Ok...I am going to dive right into the facts. The food is good.! , you want to eat good chinese food ,you come here. Prices are reasonable. Fan of the peking duck and dimsum sundays ( very wide range of them ) The ambience is okkkkk. 2 things that bugged me here The staff are good and courteous and trying to do their best BUT they seem really tired , and sloppy in appearance. Could be the heat these days....and that leads to my next point
Do something about the airconditioning. It is a large hall and fans are kept here and there and it is airconditioned but with main doors left ajar and not strong enough to cool the place. The whole experience is missed out on.
You just want to eat the food and get out.
And pls if lunch is from 12 to 3pm ,and even if u have a grand wedding booked for the evening....pls dont start arranging and folding tables by 2pm while customers are...
Read moreHighly discourage going there. (First time eating there) got invited for dinner.
Food - First of all shout out to the Japanese tofu and the pecking duck ( The only decent food items) Had a set meal - one of the worst chinese foods I've eaten. Heard praises about their dim sum but I'm highly discourage to come taste. First time i go to a chinese place and they don't know how to make fried noodles. (Tasteless - when you first smell it the "wok hay" makes you have hope, then you put it in your mouth (void of taste) I rather not speak about the other dishes among which porc with taro, fried noodle basket with food, would be too evil.
Price wise got invited so cant comment, but as per other reviews look expensive.
Service - waiters were kind and nice, but food was late to arrive. Pre-ordred the day before. Waited 40 min for first item to arrive - bear in mind there were only 2 - 3 other tables at thay time.
Ambiance - I mean a bit noisy, place looks nice though. Not good but...
