Casa 1880 Bistro — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

We visited Café 1880 Bistro and had a really lovely experience. The interior is quite fancy with a charming retro American vibe, think vintage signs and fun little details that give the place a cute and nostalgic atmosphere. It’s clear a lot of thought went into the decor, and it definitely adds to the experience.

As for the food: we ordered gnocchi, mac and cheese (one person asked for it without bacon — and they got it just right), and I had the chicken quesadillas. Everything tasted like proper comfort food: rich, flavorful, and top-notch in quality.

Desserts were a highlight as well: clearly made with care and really delicious. The place also has air conditioning, which made it extra comfortable on a warm day. One thing to note: the wait for the food was a bit long. But to be fair, the quality of the dishes made it worth it. Also, soft drinks come in smaller 275ml cans, which felt a bit limited compared to the usual larger servings.

My husband and I live in town and eat here quite frequently. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. We have eaten breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner here. In June, we had a birthday party for my husband with a party of 17 people. I chose the menu ahead of time, with a selection of four different items from the menu, and had my guests choose what they wanted to have. We also ordered hors d’oeuvres and drinks when we arrived. Outstanding spot. I showed up right before a private event and they still sat me with a smile. Service was beyond friendly and I felt genuinely welcomed. I hadn’t eaten a burger in over a month and this smash burger made it worth the wait—juicy, loaded with flavor, and one I’ll remember for a long time.
