We had an exceptionally late lunch here. With the help of the owner, we chose from an unusual menu and were not disappointed. Best meal so far in San Jose del Cabo, which is saying something in a town with some darn good food! This casual eatery, an open patio with an extensive bar and hand chosen dishes and decor, may easily be over looked when walking to the mercado, however, you should plan on pulling up a chair and making time for the best meal you’ll have in Cabo. My husband and I have two pet peeves regarding dining in San Jose, one is that we really appreciate Mexican wine and very few restaurants offer a reasonable selection. Hector, owner of Marcelino, has put together an array of terrific wines from his home country and we were over-the-moon choosing what to drink. Our second pet peeve is that local San Jose restaurants play American pop music rather than anything from Mexico. Again Hector chose to highlight his country’s gifts including the music and we were grateful! The food was beyond excellent and Hector took his time in explaining where each dish came from and even shared with me the secret to a good verde sauce. We will be coming back for breakfast before we head home . Don’t leave San Jose until you try this place, make it a priority to swing by and enjoy the best this town...
Read moreGo here. Just go here. Make a plan to make this one of the places you eat while in Cabo. Everything about Marcelino was exceptional. First, the owner Hector and our server Hector (different Hectors) were attentive and made you feel like home. The food. Oh, the food was just divine. Everything is cooked over an Argentinian- style fire. We had the queso fondido as a starter, which was so good. It’s basically a small skillet of melted cheese served with homemade tortillas. Then, between us we had a grilled Caesar (dry good but a lot), an Argentinian sausage, and grilled beef tacos made with grilled cheese (I.e., cheese melted and hardened on a grill) instead of tortillas. The latter was the most heavenly thing I have eaten in years. We finished with a molten lava cake. This was just wonderful. We plan to go back for brunch, which they serve on Friday...

Everything is homemade here, including the chips and salsas! We tried a variety of gourmet tacos, salads and empanadas. Delicious! A must try is the Gordita and Emmoladas, amazing! Great little restaurant near the...
