Horrible dining experience.

Despite its FANtastic potential, the blunders from both the waiter and the kitchen made our experience not remotely worth the price tag of fine dining it unsuccessfully attempts to be. Details below:

Water was DELICIOUS, mint/cucumber blend

Terrible service. Our waiter almost never showed up. My father and I had to wait 20 minutes for more water and a spoon in an otherwise empty room. Dishes started cluttering the tables because they were not removed properly after each course... the list goes on...

Served complimentary bread. Butter is quite sweet but very nice.

Appetizer was interesting. Had stuffed clams served with a pot of heated charcoal. A bit cheesy and too much bacon, but not bad.

I had beef tail ragu. Delicious, but served lukewarm. I returned it. Fairly sure it was given back MICROWAVED: it took a minute to return it, the food was not removed from the plate, the temperatures were unequal (center was least warm) and the raw shaved parmesan that was sitting ON TOP of the plate was completely melted. I couldn't believe the audacity, especially at a restaurant attempting a fine-dining experience. I simply took the dish and didn't make a fuss.

Had the poached pear for dessert. Spoiler alert, it is served cold. In fact, mine was partially frozen. I know this because I could feel the semi-solid ice crystals embedded in the grainy pear texture while chewing on it. It also required a lot of pressure to cut, which is problematic, as it causes the melted fruit water to drain out of the pear. A properly poached dessert 1. retains the water from the fruit (unless too much pressure is applied) so it has a melt-in-your-mouth texture (as opposed to thaw-in-your-mouth), and 2. is easy to cut (hence the need not to apply too much pressure). Both problems are easy to avoid if you aren't freezing the fruit. It was so disappointing I returned it and told them serving previously frozen foods is unacceptable, which it is. The waiter returned to tell me that the chef basically said it wasn't frozen and was a result of the nectar, which I knew was absolutely false. Unbelievable arrogance.

The rosemary ice cream is delightful... the taste that is... It had plenty of frozen chunks and freezer burns (confirming my earlier suspicious of fridge temp issues). To screw something up as simple as homemade ice cream is inexplicably embarrassing.

Case in point. The actual food is pretty good, in some cases delicious, but the poor preparation, execution, expediting, and storage strategies destroy the experience. Restuarant was not at all full.

My stepmother didn't tip, an occurrence I had never before seen. Apparently I wasn't the only one who thought it was a...

Our family of 6 slid into a reservation at Peninsula, and what a magnificent treat!

We shared 3 appetizers (clam was a favorite), Luis (our fantastic server) suggested the ceasar saled - BEST SALAD EVER!, we shared a bottle of Mexican Cabernet, had entrees (sea bass & Waygu steak were favorites), indulged in desserts (chocolate Lava was our favorite), and the finale was the fresh brewed delicious Mexican coffee.

The view of the sea, the service, the drink, the fireworks made it seem like we were in a remarkable fantasy. None of us could get over how magical our experience was.

The staff are incredible at suggesting, at serving, and made every effort to make this food adventure the most beautiful memory.

Many Blessings to the Luis, Leonardo, and the many staff working at this restaurant.

Hopefully, we'll be back!

Great place to enjoy an evening dinner. Beautiful setting and beautiful food. We absolutely loved the curry seafood appetizer. Food was well presented and good flavors. We are not as into pickling but felt like that was something they did with a lot of the plates. Good flavors but did lack an extra something. The one thing I ordered that had some strong flavors, the curry, I loved so that could have been my fault for going boring on my choices. I just want to try a few different things as we enjoy our stay. Staff was excellent. They were very busy due to a large party but worked hard to stay attentive regardless of the large tables. Wonderful meal and...

Located inside the Pueblo Bonito Hotel, we had one of the most amazing dinners in Baja, true high international cuisine standards. Compared to any high end restaurant in US or Europe. Beto was our waiter, providing amazing attention. We had fish and meat with mole for mains, shared salad and desert. Portions are just right (small for US standard though, but just ask for more). Everything served impeccably. Coupled with a good list of wines, and cocktails. See the Pastor cocktail in the picture- mezcal based. You need to make a reservation in advance, but we were able to find for the same day.
