Pueblo Bonito sunset beach is an excellent resort to catch the breathtaking views the Pacific Ocean has to offer. It’s nestled nicely against a hillside, so you get picturesque views throughout the resort. The resort caters to families with a variety of pools throughout the property, and a handful of delicious restaurants, including the market.
We stayed at building 26 (room 2611) which is not far from the main lobby, the market, and has a family pool located directly behind it. It is however located 187 risers above the main pool down by the ocean. Access around the resort is not the easiest. Golf carts is what everyone gets around in, and there are different stops located throughout the resort. The only problem is when it’s prime time it’s difficult and time consuming trying to get a golf cart. Walking is an option, but most of the time you are sharing the walkway/roadway with the golf carts. If you are a family with kids, this is not ideal.
Our room was a decent size. It was a typical room with a balcony, small eating area, regular bathroom and a small kitchenette with a fridge and a microwave. The fridge can be filled upon request with water, sodas and beer. My only complaint about the room was the shower head that kept falling. The shower holder was broken. We never called to get it fixed, we just held it while showering.
The resort has a buffet, an Asian restaurant, a bistro, steakhouse, another fancy restaurant called La Frida and The Market at Quivira which has many different eateries inside, including the 1950’s diner.
Lastly, there is no access to the beach water here. You can go onto the sand and hangout. You can even rent a bed out at the beach, but the water is off limits. Apparently sharks visit the water frequently. If you would like to take the family into the beach water there is a bus you can take to the sister resort about :20 minutes away. The bus does require you to reserve your seat beforehand.
The majority of the staff here are pretty friendly and helpful. My family and I enjoyed our stayed and I don’t see why we wouldn’t come back for a...
Read moreThe resort has positive and negative aspects. The service is okay, but the experience varies greatly from venue to venue. The cart service can be a bit frustrating as it's not super quick and sometimes doesn't come when called, but walking to a common stop will get you a ride. It's steep and complex to walk, so carts are important.
The restaurants are pretty good, but there is up charges for most things you'd want on the menu, so be prepared to shell out money for bottles of wine, steaks, or the top tier restaurants beyond the all inclusive room charge.
The rooms are a bit taddered, our ac wasn't working, it took a few calls to get services to come look at it, it's still not fixed. We also called for water 2x at night and got nowhere until connected to room service rather the front desk. The food is good everywhere, including room service, be prepared to wait an average of an hour for room service orders.
The pools are nice, but if you go at peak time getting chairs can be difficult.
Get water from the market bar and stock the room fridge. The market bar is solid, the food, the selection, design, and crowded, fun after hours bar.
Also turn the fridge on when you check...
Read moreOn one hand this place is beautiful. On the other hand, it is very difficult to navigate. You literally can't walk anywhere within the complex. You have to take a shuttle to go anywhere. The suites all have a great view of the ocean with that being said they are stacked up the cliff. Trying to walk the narrow streets is damn near impossible. If you want coffee in the morning you need to call and order room service. After a 20 min wait the shuttle will make it to your room with your coffee. Want to go get breakfast? Call for a shuttle. Want to go to the beach? Call for a shuttle. Want to get to the lobby? Guess what? Call for a shuttle. Like I said, this place is very beautiful. But be prepared to crawl up and down to get into these...
