Well, we wanted to give this place a good review, especially because we’re Texans. We came on the recommendation of a friend without reading previous reviews (which we typically do). We believe they must stay busy merely for the fact that they’re located on the Malecón. There is another location in town that we haven’t been to. Maybe it would be a different experience. 🤷🏻♀️
We started with receiving our Agua Fresca Jamaica and having to spit the petals out as we drank it. Then, it took almost an hour to get our food. As opposed to orders being delivered individually per table as they’re ready, they did like a “mass delivery” with multiple tables’ orders on one tray. The food was warm but not hot. The hamburger buns were soggy because they basically rinsed the lettuce and threw it on the burger sopping wet. They did have good flavor though. The basket of fries weren’t quite “undercooked” but weren’t hot and crispy for sure.
I took a video and pic of the atmosphere upon arrival because we always love a water view. I forgot to take a picture of the food when it arrived because we were so hungry. Sorry for the half eaten pictures. Can’t say I’d recommend this place. There are plenty of others to choose from. And it’s more and more common that I find we have to give poor reviews to the most touristy and, often most expensive places. Fortunately, this one wasn’t too expensive. Enter at your own...
Read moreHere's my dining out report on TEX BURGER 🍔,
My wife n I stopped in for an early dinner the interior was fine and pretty clean many tables to provide for a large crowd but there was only 4 other occupied tables. They do (speak English) We could tell that our waitress was probably new when she forgot to bring my wife her ordered Indio beer I had ordered a cerveza michelada con Clamato with a Indio beer to add into it and she only brought me my order which was incorrect instead of Clamato she brought lime.
Ok now for the food, first we had an order of onion rings they were not fresh dipped but we're still good, My wife ordered the grilled chicken breast sandwich it was good but the bun totally fell apart, I had the bbq ribs the menu didn't state whether or not if it was Beef or Pork so I asked and the girl had to go ask
(2nd clue that she was a new waitress)
Clueless waitress came back and said Costillas de res as you know that's Beef ribs so I say great I'll have the beef ribs!
Our order comes out about 20 mins later (which isn't a problem for us)(it may be for some people tho) So as I'm looking at my plate of french fries and ribs I say to my wife I don't think it's beef so I proceed in cutting some between the bones and taking a few bites and she says ok are they Beef or Pork I say they are a sad excuse for pork baby back...
Read moreDelicious Food, Terrible Costumer Service. I went with my family making a reservation of four people (the place gets very full and lines get very long), and as any person would do, we arrived a few minutes early to the place. We stated we had made a reservation but to our surprise they had given our table to somebody else. We ended up having to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time for a table to open. Not to mention, they took another 10 minutes to tend to us once we were seated, and bring us the menu. When we were ready to order, nobody came out to check on the tables outside and I had to literally stand up and get somebody to come take care of us. Once the food was brought out, at no moment did they come and check up on us and ask if we needed anything (we needed napkins), so we had to go up and get somebody each time. I will say the food is very tasty and is of great quality with good portions. The prices are excellent for what they offer and the place has public parking in front but availability will vary depending on how full the malecon is since they share the same parking lots. They take both cash cash card. Overall this place is a hit or miss. Personally they lost my business after coming here a few times but if you grab it to go,...
