We came to this restaurant because it was recommended by a taxi driver. My fiancé and I came to La Paz on a little summer getaway. We came in with high expectations. The vibe and location was great! Unfortunately, we had to start deducting stars shortly after arriving.

First, the mango margaritas we ordered were tasteless. It was as if they gave us unsweetened mango purée juice. It was blended and we didn’t get straws. We had to ask for straws twice!

Second, the food arrived. The food was very dry. Stay away from the lobster and stingray tacos. They were dry and not tasty. The scallop taco were not too bad. The Lobster stuffed Chile relleno was not what I expected as it was a seafood mix which was not listed on the menu. There was more shrimp, scallops, octopus in it than lobster. I actually don’t think it had any to be honest.

Third, the menu stated 95 pesos for lobster tacos, but we were charged 135. When we questioned it they said the prices went up but they hadn’t updated the menu. That just seemed very wrong, and to be honest, unprofessional.

Fourth, the service was bad. We waited forever on the straws, which normally we can do without but it was nearly impossible to sip a blended margarita. Then napkins, again we had to ask 2 different waitresses for napkins.

Overall it was not a pleasant experience. Needless to say, I would not return nor would I...

It is always important to check RECENT reviews! I was looking forward to eating here l based on the overall high rating and more than 5,000 reviews. Great location, fun vibe, and they seem to be a longtime favorite in La Paz (since 1968). As of November 2021, the food & service were bad.

We ordered guacamole, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails. Guac was ok but lacked flavor. Mojito was good; margarita was a sugary syrup mix.

As far as entrees, tacos came first — shrimp, fish & lobster. Ok flavors, but all were cold. Unintentionally cold that is. Then, there was a 30 minute delay before the other meal was brought out with no explanation. We assumed the waiter must have misunderstood or forgot to write it down and were ready to ask for the check and leave.

When the special “Sunday only” seafood Paella finally arrived it was overcooked AND there were slices of hot dog in it! Not some fancy chorizo — literally hot dogs. Very bizzare.

The dish looked good from a distance when we saw other people order it but it was basically inedible. Also, it seemed to attract every fly from the neighborhood.

That said, I’d sit on their patio and drink some cervezas but...

(Second review) I gave Bismarkcito a second chance because the food was really fresh and tasty, even if in my first experience the service was quite bad. The second time was definitely much better, the waiter was super attentive and warm, his service was prime, and the food was delicious. I will give it a few more tries before I upgrade to 5 stars, if my first experience with service was not the norm, the place will definitely deserve five stars.

(First review) OK, fair is fair. The location is great, the food is fresh and very flavorful, but where this place loses me is in the service, it was cold, hinting on rude, and slow. I tried my best to engage with the servers, and all I got back was a grumpy sound. When I arrived I asked for a table for one and one of the servers said they had no availability when 2/3 of the restaurant was empty! Even if the scallops were prime quality, I not only dine somewhere for the food. If the service is not as prime as the food, not worth my...

Horrible everything! service is soo slow, drinks took forever and after we ordered we must of waited over 45 minutes for food to come while other bigger groups who came after us were already eating. The food was bad, if it had been good then the wait wouldn’t of been an issue, we had tacos, some shrimp plate and hamburgers, it was all horrible, the shrimp plate tasted like frozen just pressed on grill with mayonnaise and salsa and the tacos were so greasy and flavorless. I started noticing while looking around a lot of people were not eating their food. super touristy trap and it’s not cheap, we waited 15 minutes for someone to bring us the check and when we paid they guy stood over my husband to tell him to add the tip, when he didn’t add it he said you need to give cash tip, the nerve! and he said it again so I straight out told him honestly the service was horrible so we’re not tipping. save yourself your money and go eat somewhere else, the view is the only thing worth the one star.

Food was OK but... This has to be the WORST service we have received ANYWHERE! EVER! The waiter asked for the order at first and NEVER came back! On the picture what you see is a used plate full of FLIES! How disgusting is that? This plate was in our table for around half an hour. Two hostesses like 10 feet away from our table who didn't care at all either! I had my first drink which I emptied immediately because of the hot weather and the guy never came back to ask if I needed anything else, my wife asked for lemons which I had to pick myself because they NEVER CAME! Nice place and with good recommendations online, but for us it was nightmarish and for sure will never come back again! Check also took so long to come! So they don't even care to charge you! Don't know many places here but I can easily say for me this is the worst place in La Paz.

This spot is, without a doubt, my favorite place to relax on the Malecón of La Paz. It’s more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The food is incredible, the cerveza is ice-cold, and the staff works together like a well-oiled machine, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Tacos Camerone (shrimp tacos) are a must-try, especially with a stop at the side bar to pile on your favorite toppings. But the true showstopper? The Ostionas a La Leña—fire-roasted oysters that are simply unforgettable. They take time to roast to perfection, but that just gives you an excuse to sit back, sip your drink, and soak in the breathtaking view of the Sea of Cortez. If you’re in La Paz, don’t just visit—linger, savor, and let the moment become a memory.
