I have stayed in La Paz 20+ times. I usually stay at the same hotel, but they recently sold and changed names. So this trip I decided to expand out. I stayed 2 nights each: Crown 7, Cathedral, Indigo and Baja Club. I saved Baja Club for last thinking I would enjoy it the most. Upon arrival I thought I was correct. The hotel has beautiful architecture, gardens, spaces and a cool vibe. The location on the malecon is excellent. The room is simple old classic Mexico. However, the rooms security seems lacking, but there is a safe. I personally never felt unsafe. The old school key, key chain, and a heavy magnet bar to start the electricity when you enter the room is cool, but a pain to carry around. After dinner I came back to the room and it smelled like sewage. I opened the window and turned on the fan. Side note: it appears the electricity to the smoke detector/C02 is connected to the fan. So when the fan is off so is the detector. The smell did not subside so I went to the front desk. The front desk said they would send someone over. I never saw anyone but the smell disappeared. As others have mentioned the included breakfast is misleading. Only a very limited menu is included. I ordered off of it and additional food. The food was very good. I want to give a shout out to Omar who works at the bar/restaraunt. He has a great work ethic and personality to match. That afternoon I went to read out on the beautiful patio/garden, but it to smelled of sewage. Some reviews mention the showers were cold. I thought they were correct, but both mornings I let the water run forever and it finally warmed up. I felt guilty using that much water in a city and world that has a fresh water shortage. My room the second day was smell free until about 8 pm when the smell appeared again. There is no on site parking which can be a pain if you have a car. And finally my checkout. I paid upfront on a card with a closed tab. I paid cash for all additional food and drinks. However, the front desk said I owed 180 pesos due to the changing exchange rate. I showed him the email with the confirmed US$ price and told him that I paid upfront. He said he felt bad asking but could I please pay the additional pesos as it is only like $10. I gave him 200 pesos and left. I wanted the Baja Club to be everything I thought it was, but for the above reasons I would not stay there again. There are so many other choices that offer better for the same or less money. For those wondering I enjoyed my stay at all three of the other hotels I tried. They all have their...

They made a very instagrammable hotel with a great PR team but definitely not up to the standards of a 5-star. It’s more like a nice looking motel. -Comforters had holes and stains. They are also queen size for king bed and twin size for double beds. So impossible to share. -The shower drain is so slow it over flows out of the shower. Where shower curtains get soaked in dirty water. -There are total of 4 hangers and no place to open your bags on. Also no iron. -Toilet is separated but without a sink so you need touch all the doors with dirty hands before washing your hands. Imagine all the people before you that touched it. -All the cotton balls and toiletries are not sanitary. They get refilled by hand. So don't take your make up off with it. -On our last night we didn’t have running water for hours. Also, wifi doesn't work correctly through out the hotel. -No body speaks English or any other language so they take orders wrong or put it on the wrong rooms. There is no staff elevator so house keeping carries sheets by hand while you are in the elevator and sometimes you just end up in the staff room bc it gets called to floor -1. Our breakfast was included but there are no eggs or anything. Just the smallest amount of granola i have seen. As well as moldy fruit. Juices are basically water.
It was a total disappointment. If this was a 3 star hotel for $150 a night this all would have been fine. However they are charging high end NYC, LA hotel prices for really bad hotel.
If you just want to take some pictures just stop by but don’t stay there. I am sure there are proper hotels that knows how hospitality works around the area. It was just sad.
Location is good tho, just felt like it was designed by a person who never designed a hotel before but has a good eye for...
