If you're in La Paz and looking for the ultimate sunset experience, Azotea is an absolute must-visit. The view is, without question, the star of the show—offering the BEST vantage point of the La Paz waterfront and a sunset that will leave you speechless. Seriously, the view alone is worth a visit.
Pros:
The view, the view, the view—there’s no competition. Not a bad seat in the house, ensuring every guest gets to soak in the breathtaking scenery. Despite some mixed online reviews, the service was exceptional and attentive. Ambiance and décor were thoughtfully designed—unique, chic, and perfectly suited for the rooftop vibe. The DJ's music complemented the setting beautifully, enhancing the overall experience. The food was outstanding—the aguachile tostada and pesto salad were fresh, flavorful, and a true testament to the local seafood and ingredients. A thoughtful and unexpected touch: a delightful anniversary dessert that made our evening feel extra special.
Cons:
The OpenTable reservation system was puzzling. Despite being fully booked online, we noticed several unoccupied tables during our visit. The check-in and waiting process was awkward. After arriving at the hotel, we had to check in at the front desk and wait for a hostess to escort us (and other guests) up a small elevator to the rooftop. It felt a bit disorganized. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable—by far the worst seating I’ve experienced in a restaurant of this caliber. Wine availability was disappointing—they were out of several bottles and didn’t even have a sauvignon blanc on hand. Bottle prices were shockingly high. We paid nearly six times the shelf price for a bottle. Next time, we’ll bring our own wine and pay the $50 corkage fee instead.
Summary:
Overall, Azotea delivered a memorable evening, thanks to the unbeatable views, delicious food, and outstanding service. While there are a few areas for improvement, such as the seating and wine selection, we’d gladly return for another sunset-filled night. It’s an experience you won’t...
Read moreThe reason why I give one star to this restaurant is that I almost pass away having dinner here. They double check about what we have for allergies downstairs and upstairs. I have serious allergy to peanuts. But clearly the people who noted my peanut allergy didn’t take this seriously. The waitress specifically recommended the dish that contained peanut to us. I thought they double checked about my allergies, so there must be no peanut in our dish. After I realized it has peanut in it, we ask the waiter and ask for water. But they are VERY SLOW. Sometime when I accidentally eat peanuts, with huge amounts of water can save my life. But they are super slow. The waiter came to said that dish was made with peanut oil. I’m not sure if they are telling the truth, because I usually don’t get serious allergic reactions whit peanut oil. I threw up in the washroom for a while, cuz usually after water and throw up I’ll get better. But I realized that situation was getting worse. I’ll still can’t breathe smoothly,I have to lift up my chin to breath. After a while, I ask them to call the ambulance, which also took for like 20mins🙂 After that my friends ask the restaurant to send someone to go with the hospital with us. The girl who came with us was super nice. The restaurant paid for the shot I got and the medicine. The only things they cover for the meal is the peanut dish and water that saved my life… I really hope you guys can do better with the allergy thing. When you ask customers twice about the allergy, you shouldn’t making this kinda mistake. Also peanut allergies are very very common But they still make this kinda mistake. Just hoping no one will have to go through what I had Please make some improvements of employees training and the...
Read moreAzotea is the kind of place that lives rent free in your mind forever.
From the white space in the lobby to everyone wearing white, the clean lines, decor and space that feels futuristic to the one of a kind, unforgettable rooftop bar.
Talk about design and architecture where the rooftop itself makes you feel like you’re part of a sculpture and the aesthetics just blow your mind away, all with the best views in La Paz of the Sea of Cortez.
We heard about this place and knew we had to try it. Despite it being a bit on the pricier side, we knew we didn’t care. Because we had just eaten and had dinner plans later, we opted for a some mezcal cocktails with a view.
The drinks weren’t anything I’ll be talking about but the experience itself is something I’ll never forget. Form the host to our servers to the views you can’t put a price on.
We wish we could’ve come for sunset but sadly we were in a bit of a time crunch. That’s something I’m sure leaves you speechless. Either way, highly recommend! You can also reserve a little pool plunge area that comes with a towel and the best views in the house. Totally worth it!
I’ll never forget this experience and it’s a space I’ll for sure keep talking and dreaming about. Hope to try their food and maybe even stay at one of their rooms next time I’m in La Paz.
Thanks for an unforgettable experience. The design and architecture left...
