Papas & Beer — Restaurant in Baja California

This club is popular with tourists. Locals don't come here. They own several chairs tables on the beach as well. It is huge venue. There is a t-shirt shop across the street that sells Papas and Beer merchandise. Spring Break gets packed to the point it spills on the street.

How can a club that has ties to the U.S. be so backwards and Mexicany. They should shoot for better guests maybe more U.S. and a lil Mexican current rappers, or pop singers, or hip hop artists. Some of the music was little old. (Other than current reggaeton, I heard a lot of old songs in English. Really, Eve, blow your mind? That's so 2009. Juvenile back that ass up? I think these kids that attend the club now weren't born then or at least babies.) And sound system is horrible. I stepped out the club and couldn't hear nothing no more. Their beer is all Heineken brands. No real variety and its all "chunty" brands.

This place is hit or miss. You might have a good time or you might end up having a horrible time. As a precaution, hold on to your phones and valuables etc. (Better yet leave your valuables in a safe in your hotel). If they get lost, they're lost. Haven't experienced any thefts, but the staff are locals and older creepy looking Mexican guys and I wouldn't put it past them.

Gays, while Rosarito itself has failed to attract gay men to party in the city and every gay bar established there fails, gay guys do go to Papas and Beer. They just won't be out about it. Meet through Grindr or some app like that. Most the guys are tourists mostly Latinos from California or some part of the U.S. and they already speak American English. Some white boys come too. Highly suggest getting a Mexico plan with U.S. cell providers so you could use your phone in Rosarito. I have one with Sprint that lets me do text and calls when I cross the border. ...

Worst experience ever will never go again. On September 27th 2018. My wife and I went to Papas & Beer in Rosarito around 9pm. For the first time and it was not a good experience. To begin with the bar tenders treat you like you are the lowest of the lowest. No professionalism they make the nastiest drinks. They talk smack of the people there as they are making the nasty drinks. They brush you off and act like your not there. Even tho they look straight at you. Unless you are a girl with just a swimsuit. Then they pay attention to you. Or they know you. The security is even worse there was a lot of fights that night. I have never seen security act the way they did. I’m pretty sure that the people that were involved in the fight ended at the hospital. Because the security will run towards them and start throwing punches too. And when the people will hit the ground security will start kicking them. Pick them up by the neck carry them out. And as they are being taken out they were still being punched. I understand it’s a risky job but when the security would come back and you see them laughing and mimicking the punches and kicks they threw. Makes you think that they due it all the time. And they enjoy every bit of it . There was a fight where it was girls. With them is a hole different story. They would walk up to them and just talk to them. To try to calm them down. So those are the reasons I would not go back and would not recommend Papas & Beer to any one...

Security is horrible and definitely take advantage of people rather then protecting. One of the security forced my boyfriend out the event and harassed him first by forcing my boyfriend to give him 60$ to stay where he was sitting, but my boyfriend didn’t have enough money on him so security walked him out. Being walked out the security tripped him to the ground and TOOK his gold chains,wallet, and ripped off his wrist band to not get back into the event! And This was all the SECURITY!! The security is all money hungry and look for the right opportunity to get anything they can. For example, We asked the security how much it was for a table at one place and they said 600$, then we asked another security at another place and they said 400$ ??? Which did not make any type of sense. It’s unbelievable how everything went wrong, especially with security I wouldn’t have expected anything like this to happen. Robbing left to right.
