Hooters — Restaurant in Cancún

I love Hooters- the vibe, the food, the staff... I love it. And everything I love about Hooters is everything Hooters of Cancun is not. It was nothing like the fun, friendly atmosphere that Hooters represents and really shouldn't even be a part of the chain.

I dined there with my brother at 10:15pm on 12/26/16. I was surprised to not even be greeted with the traditional "Bienvenido a Hooters!" Instead, I felt like it was a chore for them to serve us. We were at the bar area where Maggie, who would end up being our server, enjoyed flirting and talking with the male bartenders instead of greeting us. Once we were served, the bartender brought our drinks while insulting us in Spanish to Maggie. I however, speak Spanish and understood when he called us "vergas". I called them on it and Maggie plastered on a smile, took our order and never returned to complete the service. She, and many of the other Hooter girls did continue to flirt with the male bartenders who also ignored us. This was the first time in all of my visits to Hooters that I poured my own beer and wasn't even visited by other servers. We had to ask the manager to order other items.

There was one server who was an exception to this. Minerva came to get a drink from the bar and saw my brother didn't have any chips with his nachos, so she brought us some. She was friendly, fun and attentive.

The manager, Juan, was also a benefit to this restaurant. He listened to what we said and comped the meal. I was not expecting, nor did I ask for it, but appreciated it.

I asked the bartenders their names because I was planning on writing a review and they said Luis and Alejandro. I asked the manager their names and he said it was Derly and Carlos. Even Juan was taken back by their blatant disregard and disrespect towards customers. These guys really do a disservice to the Hooters brand. I wouldn't go back to this location, or sit at the bar if these guys were still employed there.

As for the food- The wings were Hooters delicious... plump, and perfectly flavored. The quesadilla was also really good. Nachos- not so much... Because the food and Minerva were excellent, I rated this restaurant two stars instead of one. I really hope Hooters corporate steps in to encourage the Hooter's spirit and brand that is lacking at...

Literally haven't been to a Hooters in over a decade, maybe two, but ended up here for our first night in Cancun. We had arrived late in the evening so our options were a bit limited and we were just looking for a snack.

This Hooters is located on the edge of the lagoon and has nice views and plenty of people watching opportunities. The staff was extremely friendly and the atmosphere was lively. I can guess this place can become crazy during the high season, but it still had a healthy number of diners when we were there.

We ended up just ordering some wings to share and got their classic version with sauce on the side. I don't actually recommend it this way because the plain wings are bland and really need to be tossed in some type of sauce to have any flavor. The medium spicy - I'd just call it buffalo sauce - ended up being our default favorite and we went through a couple of the side bowls they brought out and I ended up pouring it over the wings anyway.

Overall it was a very nice evening to kick off our Cancun trip. Definitely recommend if Hooter's is what you're...

First experience was good. So, we went back after couple days for lunch/dinner. We were looking for vegetarian option and asked few modification in menu. Another Waitress bring our order while original waitress was sitting and hanging out on table with other guys. when order came that time she notify us we can’t get those modifications. Doesn’t she need to inform us as soon as she pass the order in kitchen? Secondly, when we were paying and denied to give her tip, she had very bad attitude and told us ohh Mexican people needs tips. She didn’t even say thank you or gracias and literally walked off with bad attitude. Why would we give her tip? During all our dining she was hanging out with other two guys and another waitress bringing our order plus u screwed up our order. They can’t substitute chicken patty for few steamed vegetables?? Really? Is chicken costly or steamed vegetable costly? U lost business from us and our all friends in future due to...
