Went here on a slow lunch day and had the the whole outdoor area to ourselves for most of the time. The setting along the water and the breeze that comes with it is very nice and relaxing.
They are pretty aggressive at trying to get people in the door which was a read flag but I saw some positive reviews on google maps so figured these are just tough times and it is probably still pretty good. I should have checked Yelp.
The food was ok. We got the surf n turf for 2 which was reasonably large, probably around 24oz total of meat, of which a third is chicken. With the little cups of garlic butter even the relatively bland chicken tastes great. The lobster, while small (probably 3-4oz with the shell), is obviously delicious.
This was 990 pesos, then I got 2 cans of modelo which were 170 total, and my wife got a can of sparkling water which was around 45 pesos. This is relatively pricey but I reckon we did technically get 2 lobster tails. In any event the waiter, who had been great up until this point, walk over with the bill paperclipped to the bill holder. He had written over a lot of what the computer printed in ink and the paper clip was directly on top of the tip he wrote in for himself. He just pointed at each item, which should have added up to about 1200 pesos, and said "1445 total" or whatever. I think this is super shady because he never said he tipped himself. After insisting I had no cash he came back with the credit card machine and I asked to see the bill again and this time I removed the paper clip and said "This amount, is this a tip?" He said "yes" and I said that it was fine. I am happy to tip the guy 20% but the problem is that he never said he was doing that and then presented me with a total that included a tip he decided for himself. I'm sure if had not caught it he would have asked if I wanted to leave a tip and I would have tipped him another 20% on top of the tip I wasn't aware of.
In any event, the food is ok, the location is very nice, and the waiters are kind of shady. Read your bill carefully and if you see prices written over in pen ask yourself why. Two beers, a water, and lunch cost almost $80 US after tip so it's...
Read moreThe burgers were better than any other I've ever had at any fast food or restaurant in business. It was also probably worth triple the price they charged and was priced much less than the strip of restaurants charged for theirs adjacent to them. I believe I paid more for a small Shirley Temple that was literally a can of sprite that came with ice, a splash of grenadine, and a cherry inside it for my kid a few restaurants down before our excursion for my kid 2 hours prior to eating here. Our waiter was fluent in English and went above and beyond to accomodate us. I wish I knew his name because he is worth mentioning and I'd like to send him the tip he didn't include on my debit transaction and I didn't have cash on me because it was suggested to leave our non essential items at our hotel or risk losing them in the ocean/lagoon if our boat capsized which it nearly did and we lost a hat and sunglasses. They also take cash only but our waiter was able to acquire a debit terminal from a neighboring business to pay for our meals. I would definately recommend anyone try this restaurant as all the menu items were hard to select from and the aroma of their kitchen alone was why we decided not to utilize our many free restaurants at our resort across the road instead. If I ever go back here again I will be going here...
Read moreWould not even rate as a 1 star, food was absolutely horrible. We had been to the mall a few times and noticed the place. Should have known from their aggressiveness for you to come In was a hint, as well as no business. The experience started off great, owner made us feel comfortable the first 10 minutes. He immediately went back out basically attacking people to come eat, then once he pulled in another table he quickly forgot about us. No refills, no communication. The food came out, presentation was good. Me and my husband had the surf and turf for two. The first bite was the lobster, absolutely disgusting was way over cooked. Then we tried the shrimp, it was okay. So it’s hard to mess up chicken and steak right? Well they did and it was some Of the nastiest food We had ever tasted. We pushed it all to the side and was ready to go. Had to wave the guy down to ask for our ticket. He then pulled out a chair and sit at our table and discussed the ticket, the guy tried tricking us. We don’t want others to have the same experience, that’s why we are sharing. Hope your business learns to focus on making your food great and less on attacking and running down people to come in. Food itself will sell itself. Good luck and we wish...
