IKÚ Restaurante — Restaurant in Cancún

Had breakfast twice and always found the food fresh and tasty. Coffee is also decent. Would recommend scrambled eggs with bacon and pancakes (American breakfast). Nice ambiance, always fun to have your breakfast on a terrace in the shade of palm trees. We have two issues regarding the staff:

1. when you get a check you will see the price of your order and below the sum the coffee place expects you to pay with the tip (the other amount /which was about 15%/ written in handwriting). A bit uncomfortable. As a costumer you would rather like to make your own decision on how much to tip. We’ve seen it done in a much nicer way in other restaurants and bars in Mexico, where your check would have the 3 propositions of tips written on it (10, 15 and 20%).
2. it may take some time before you get your order. So if you’re in a hurry,...

Super tasty and satisfying food! Iku is one of our favorite go to places in Cancun. They do great breakfast and lunch options. The pancakes are thick and fluffy. I highly recommend the French toast too. The brioche is a wonderful texture with an intense cinnamon flavor that is magnificent. The pasta when in stock is the best, Way more flavorsome than any of the Italian restaurants in Cancun. The milkshakes are really enjoyable with many options to choose from. The staff are considerate and attentive. The staff do not hassle you regardless of how busy the place is they allow you to enjoy your food in peace which is appreciated. Terrible terrible service. First we were seated near dirty table. After 15 minutes of waiting waiter came to ask if we are ready to order. We weren't because we didnt get menu and on our table there was no qr code. When we finished we asked for receipt and we were waiting for another 10 minutes. After this time we asked 2 more Staff members for check. After next few minutes someone came with terminal and asked where is our check (we still didnt get any). During payment he told "service is not included" and waited for response which was just rude after this terrible service.
