I booked this hotel a few months back via JetBlue vacation and the price was pretty good bundled with the flight. The room was small and nice, though the air conditioner was placed in the long part of the room (think L shaped) and the bed was on the opposing side with the shorter part of the L, so the cold air would hit the wall that was 8 feet away and not get to the bed. Forcing me to leave the AC on for hours.
The room I had was across the street from the entrance for the club 11:11 and when I saw all the people outside the first night I thought I would not be able to sleep. But there was no noise! Maybe the occasional loud-excited-club-goer, but other than that I slept great. The shower had good pressure, the toilet and sinks worked great, pretty good WiFi (I had to virtual work 1 of the days I was there) and the staff was so accommodating! I was so needy during my first day there because I was visiting my son and I had brought him gifts but all the electrical cables I brought with me BROKE! Maybe because of the airport X-ray? I don’t know - but I had to rush out and buy new ones at the Chedraui nearby. This was a suggestion from the young man at the front desk and he even loan me his cable to double check if it was my cables or the power plugs.
As a bonus, they have a restaurant for breakfast time, I think it’s 7-11 a.m.? The food was pretty good, their omelette was delicious and the staff so attentive and nice. Would stay at again, would...
Read moreI tried to get a room in the morning, had a very long flight, but they said only at 3pm. I said I’m very tired, need to sleep, but no, 3pm. Ok..I came back around 4, gave my passport and said I have a reservation. The guy (Mayo) even didn’t look at me or passport, was playing with documents, showing that he is kinda big boss there. He said wait 5min. I was really exhausted, but waited, he was doing something he could do after my check in. Then he asked my name- I answered, but he couldn’t find a reservation. I started getting nervous and upset from all this situation, then finally he found, but was so rude all the time, sarcastic and ignorant. This kind of guy shouldn’t work in a hospitality field. If he wants to work, he should change his behavior, and need a better training! Very rude, unprofessional. People on the reception should be friendly and helpful, not the way around. Because of him I left to another hotel. :( I was sooooo tired from my very long flight, then I waited a room, just needed to sleep and relax, but had to deal with this rude receptionist. Many nice people in Mexico needs job, he is taking someone’s place. “Why you r so special” he said when I told him to be friendly. First time I had such an experience. Arrogant Mayo. ...
Read moreGreat location as it is right in the middle of downtown, close to El parque de las palapas, right on the main avenue as well with local busses available. Also, it's a 5 minute walk to the ADO bus station where you can take the busses to the airport and other cities.
However, the hotel is right next to a nightclub (like 10m distancia, just a small street in between) and neither of them have any sound insulation. The music blasts until 4am or so so if you are a light sleeper be prepared not being able to sleep. The windows are literally shaking from noise. Also, the walls are paper thin without any insulation.
It's great for people coming partying.
That being said, it's very clean (please tip your cleaners). The water pressure is great and there is actually hot water (a lot of the hotels in the area have...
