Good food: bad service.
The first time my friend and I went we waited a good hour for our ramen, but his appetizer came very quickly. I on the other hand had to remind the server 2 more times about mine before it finally arrived after the ramen. I was willing to let that slide cuz our food was great, aside from the server then trying to take my edamame from the table before I had even gotten a chance to finish them.
The food was good enough we went back a second time. This is where everything went bad. The server forgot we existed for a solid half hour or more and it took us 40 minutes to get our drinks. We saw the server putting in our whole order after we reminded her about our drinks after patiently waiting 30 minutes to see anything. On top of that she kept forgetting everything we ordered and had to remind her 4 times about one appetizer and 3 times about another. Only one appetizer of 3 came out before the ramen. In total we were there for almost 2 hours because of this. The food second around time was much more bland and lacked the flare of the spicy sauce we got on the first visit. My veggie ramen was great the first time despite them doing ANYTHING to season or cook the tofu. 2nd time around was less delicious.
Still better ramen than the wok place down the street though with their mushy spaghetti...
Read moreThe female waitresses were very friendly and helpful. One even spoke English and did her best to try to accommodate my food allergies.
The baos are well priced but unfortunately the bread has milk, so I could not eat it.
My partner said that the Bao bread was spongy, the sauce was tasty but the pork belly had too much fat. It was great that the order included 2 baos.
The cocktail named "Same" that I tried was in a beautiful fish ceramic cup with beautiful charred wood, orange, and mint leaves. It tasted yummy and was well priced.
Beautiful and ambient decor.
There was one man working there who was not wearing a uniform like all the other staff. I'm not sure if he was the manager, but he never smiled (even though we always smiled) and his presence felt very uncomfortable, so I'm not sure if I want to return here. I think that providing hospitable, warm and friendly service from restaurants is one of the most important aspects about the entire experience and will determine if customers...
Read moreMy friends and I are visiting Mexico and are big foodies. We come from Texas and Philadelphia so we have a good food scene. We were very excited to see a ramen place in Mexico and decided to give it a try. To our dismay the food did not live up to par compared to our expectations. From the bao to the gyoza to the ramen, it was not worth the pesos. The only good dish would be the yakisoba however, I specifically ordered the seafood version since I do not eat meat. Somehow they still managed to bring out the beef version and ruined my 8 year streak of not eating meat. Then when attempting to get that item taken off our bill they gave us a very hard time of back and forth bickering until they settled on giving us the correct item at no charge in the end. This was personally my worst experience ever in an establishment and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I hope their management is able to read this and fix this issue so that it never happens to...
