I booked a Islas Mujeres Tour with a tour agency, they referred me to Pachos which seems to be both a tour operator and restaurant. The length of the tour I was commented prior was by 2 hours off. It was a small boat, the weather was quite rough, so far so good. Some others on the tour werent sold the necessary snorkel equipment beforehand even though there was enough time sitting around, so they only had the glasses. We only saw one kind of the underwater statues, going in and out of the boat wasnt quite easy with the badly equipped boat. It seemed that some of the people snorkelling didnt know how to swim well so they panicked. I dont know why nobody checked before. There was one small child on board that couldnt even wear a life vest (?!), and there were not enough life vests for everybody even though the captain stated wearing them is obligatory as a standard. The way back from the island was in the dark on rough water (seems like the other boats had returned before sunset), very unnecessary, especially with these weather conditions with waves and rain and so-so safety conditions. On top people became panicky - life vests hadnt been handed out, they asked to get them and we were just told there is no problem, not to move and didnt get the vests until we distributed ourselves at least the available ones. Last point is the food wasnt great - we had been told its a buffet but it wasnt, and the food area was a dirty beach with the highlight being a poor encaged shark to take...
Read moreI’m not sure if it’s an appropriate place but I have taken a tour to Isla Mujeres that started in this restaurant. The bill says “Luis Pachos”. The thing is that I have to recommend it. Sorry for misspelling but señores Cristofer and Omar took a good care of us. We were able to see underwater statues whilst snorkeling - which was a remarkable experience. Then we went to one side of the island and have a free time for a walk at the beach and whatever. After which we were set free in the city center. Truly recommend renting a golf cart and taking a ride over the island. It’s so fun. Remember to chose blue one, they are faster than the others. We ended up in some local restaurant on the playa tiburon, where you can see sharks in some kind of water cage. A bit sad view but they claim to take them from fisherman’s nets in order to rehabilitate them. Hardly believable but it is what it is . Generally sincerely recommend this tour. BTW it was also in very satisfying price for such a trip and a...
Read moreHorrible service. They had us waiting over an hr before we could board. Then they had promised us snorkeling with very pretty fishes and underground statues, didn't really saw much and they were rushing us thru it. Though we had our own boat since we were a large group and said we could take our time because of that. We agreed to meet back at the dock at a certain time and they were and hr late. So we wasted an hr doing nothing. They promised us to go see Dolphins and swim with a shark. We didn't get to see the Dolphins because the captain said it was too late. When we got to where the shark was they wanted us to pay per person to swim with it and we weren't allowed to take pictures you can only buy the ones they take. The only good thing was the food. After we spoke with the supervisor thru whatsapp because that's thru we communicated with them and after we explained all our issues she ignored us and left us on read. Definitely do...
