I stay for a week already in Ensenada and I didn't know that Margarita was invented in this city, until my Austrian classmate told me! The bar is located inside the museum or some old building by the government. We went there around 2:30pm and there were some local shops inside! They sell local souvenirs/gifts so it was nice because we could look around. The bar wasn't really crowded that time but I had a nice talk with the bartender. They are all really cool and speak good English! I believe they have different kind of Margarita but we just bought the original. Fyi, the glass is really big & they have band playing at 9pm. It may seem like a humble, old bar, but it dates back to the early 1900s, there is a fireplace and the wooden bar, though refurbished is mostly the original furniture. Margaritas are the best here, and every Wednesday, they are on sale 2x1, a great deal! Try the Mango margarita, smooth, delicious and refreshing. Also: Nachos!
My only gripe is that lately they allow temporary street vendors to set up shop in the patio, selling cheap trinkets for tourists. Please don't patronize them, they are aa tourist trap, selling cheap Chinese trinkets at overprice, passing them off as indigenous artworks.....
Read moreStrong, affordable margaritas in a little courtyard with vendors selling fun trinkets, clothing, etc. I really enjoyed that they all stayed at their respective booths and didn't hound any of the tourists to purchase their items. They were all very kind, friendly, and respectful. The staff at Bar Andaluz were all kind as well.
