Tritón — Restaurant in Guerrero

We decided to check this place out based on looking at their menu online. It was very conveniently located for us, just about 100 meters from our hotel.

We were greeted and seated immediately. At first, my wife and I felt that our server was either annoyed or disinterested in serving us. He didn't make eye contact and we didn't feel very welcomed. That said, he quickly took our drink and food order, checked on us during the meal, and appeared to warm up to us as the meal progressed.

The atmosphere is unbeatable. Beachside with gorgeous views of the setting sun. It truly was wonderful.

My wife ordered the coconut shrimp which was served with mashed sweet potatoes. The meal was excellent.

I ordered the Triton shrimp, which were stuffed with ricitta cheese and wrapped in prosciutto. It was tooped with a nice cranberry sauce and served with rustic mashed potatoes. It was very good, although my shrimp were very slightly overcooked (not enough to take away from the overall quality of the meal).

Excelente comida, la verdad de primera, nada más que el mesero insiste en que paguen en efectivo, de hecho te dicen que solo consumos mayores a $500 con tarjeta, cuando pedimos la cuenta que fue mayor a eso, el mesero de muy mal gusto nos dijo, dejen la propina en efectivo....? Te saca de onda esa actitud pues el lugar es muy chido, la comida de primera, otros meseros fueron más atentos y no tan impertinente como el que nos atendió, otra cosa tienen happy hour de 5 a 7 PM pero para darte ese servicio te obligan a consumir platos fuertes que no bajan de $350.00 por persona, entonces no es happy hour, ?! ya solo allí sería más de $700 y las bebidas, ?! Pero ese no es el problema, es que te obliguen, si no quieres comer mucho en la noche esa no es buena hora para ir, sería después del happy, porque no vale la pena, eso sí la comida riquísima. Esta súper bien ubicado y tiene música en vivo en las tardes, en eso un 10, solo deberían tener más cuidado con el tema de el pago en efectivo o tarjeta y que el mesero no sea tan mal educado de casi regañar al cliente para que le deje su propina o pague en efectivo. Con la respuesta del dueño o gerente a esta crítica , me doy cuenta de que la petulancia y arrogancia del mesero es entrenamiento directo del que maneja este negocio y su pobre inteligencia para contestar a un cliente que hablo muy bien de su negocio y le hizo observaciones como cualquier otro cliente , no entiendo cómo puede responder diciendo que son las reglas y que hay otros lugares de diferente presupuesto, o sea a este tipo le importa un bledo una crítica a su gestión de mercadeo y de servicio , mejor le recomiendo poner una venta de hot dog callejeros, así no se molesta por tener un comentario para mejorar su negocio y su servicio, pero que se puede esperar de alguien con 2 dedos de frente respondiendo así, en política y en la industria de alimentos y bebidas hay que aprender a recibir críticas y saber manejarlas, así que veo que no sabe ninguna de las 2 , suerte en tu changarro de playa , pero habemos clientes que si entendemos del negocio y hacemos observación, no todos son gringos que no hablan español y no saben cómo objetar este tipo de calaña . Cool restaurant on elevated beach. They often have live music. Reservations are taken and recommended if you want a specific table.

The tuna tataki and beet carpaccio salads were excellent! The mahi mahi Santa entree was edible but really not great. The fried banana plantain dessert was also not great.

The service was good. It could have been better but that is not to say it was bad.

There was a guy giving samples of his homemade Oaxaca cheese that was delicious! If we had a refrigerator in our room, I definitely would have purchased some.

The band was excellent. Being right on the beach in paradise, the atmosphere was perfect like most things in Zihua. I'd definitely come back, even if just...
