Upscale friendly not for snobbish people. Snobbish Please stay away. Excellent atmosphere, virtually all people are happy that they went there and will return. Many return guests. Management are doing alot of smaller but important things to make it better. Employees are superior and are happy that you came. If you cannot climb a flight of stairs it's not for you. Actually it is 5+ stars. Because of the people, facility, friendly attitude, and pool socializing bar during happy hour. Cook is excellent. Because of Covid it is limited to 70% occupancy. A very comfortable place on the LA Ropa beach ranked in top 10 beaches in the world. Fishing is excellent this time of year for past 6 weeks. Much Dorado (Mahi Mahi) price of Dorado is now 80 Pesos per KG down from 240 pesos, kg is 2.2 lbs. Pesos 20 = 1USD. Supply of Mahi is very great. Land skaping her is very good, better than B/4. Adult pool limited to 24 persons at one time because of covid but is ok because of 70% occupancy. Beach lounges limited but now Govt. allows putting some on govt area on beach so works out ok. Lounge situation when normal times can use more mgmt. Creativity. Saw some whales today South of here. Whale sightings are not special. Saw three Turkeys on property yesterday. Saw large male and smaller female iguanas making babies next door. Just to say that there are animals present. Yes it is very good place and always full during season. But we always like in July and August. We come about 10 weeks per year. New, early June we are her only 2 weeks. Some nice Improvements have been made to place. We live in South Carolina so unpleasant weather aready has arrived. Because of reasonable humidity here 85' F feels like 85' or a bit less but in SC 85' feels like 95'. We will come again in late July and early August for 4 weeks because to hot in SC. We are fractional owner here so we automatically get 5 weeks then can have more from what is not chosen so we come to our three bedroom unit 10 to 12 weeks per year. Everyone say this is special place and it is! Zihuatanejo is a really cool fishing village that is 100k people now but is very similar to when it was 15k. Xmas is very busy time so some airlines will rip you so always be creative with flying out of other cities on different airlines especially United is bad guy right now. Example: Xmas Houston to Zihua no stop on United is more than $2000 to $3000 but American no stop from Dallas is $700. We normally fly United out of Savannah but fare was over $2000 and 221/2 hours trip, out of Jacksonville $700 and 61/2 hours trip. I can drive a bit extra. Covid is over so things are back to...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Hilton Grand Vacations Club Zihuatanejo. Definitely it won't be my last! After a short cab ride costing 580 pesos arranged at the airport, we arrived. "Welcome Home," the staff at reception stated. Our cab was greeted by well dressed friendly professional staff. Cold bottled water immediately given and our bags brought to the desk, while we checked in. The area is stunning! We were swiftly checked in and brought to our room by golf cart. We were shown the complete 3 bdr 3 bath accommodations. The views are simply spectacular. The beds and furnishings, including cushions and pillows are all of high quality and very decorative. We were immersed in complete comfort and were well taken care of by the entire staff. Staff was always available to help you, give you assistance, answer any questions. Staff was always polite and very accommodating. The cleaning staff was top notch, our accommodations done daily, with no short cuts taken. Beds always made with decorative finishings. Entire terra cotta floors completely swept and mopped. Garbage and recycling always emptied. Bathrooms kept meticulously. We had a small plumbing issue, which was immediately taken care of. Our favourite staff member was Antonio. He referred to my boyfriend and I as family. The swim up bar staff was fantastic and always fun. The pool areas and lounges were kept spotless. The beach area always raked and well cleaned. The restaurant was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to provide a romantic setting, once they found out we got engaged two days after our arrival. There is also a gift shop store which has all the little extras you might be looking for including some grocery items. There is such pride by the entire staff, who all are working to make you feel at home. Everyone you encounter, even the staff doing landscape or repairs are friendly and professional. Everyone SMILES! The beach in front of our resort was beautiful, with soft sand, perfect waves for body surfing, and long enough for romantic strolls. If you're lucky you will find the men who oyster fish every morning and grab a quick dozen to enjoy on the spot. (200pesos) There are activities to chose from and participate in. Our new friend Antonio took us out on his day off, for a taco tour and visit in town. He went above and beyond to tell us about his culture and home in Zihuatanejo. By far, the best vacation I have been on, and by far the best hotel staff you will ever encounter. It definitely felt like a beautiful dream. We plan to return for our honeymoon next year. Thank you to the entire staff for their...

It's camping, basically, at resort prices.
Imagine paying 150-200 a night to essentially sleep outside. The rooms don't have real doors to the balconies, so every sound, every bit of wind are coming for you in your room. Even the rain gets in. The phone ringing at reception, the glasses in the restaurant clinking - you will hear it all and have no privacy. God forbid you're trying to have an intimate experience with your partner - which is why the average age of the guests is 73. Staff are constantly talking loudly amongst themselves, indifferent to your tranquility.
Imagine going to the pool and paying Vegas prices, but in Mexico. The pricing is opaque so you won't realize until later.
Imagine tepid water that has no pressure, that's your shower.
Imagine bugs in your room because there aren't real doors to the balcony.
Now let's add reception staff that are incredibly rude. Keep going? Cool, let's go:
There are no towels at the pool, gotta bring your own.
The guests are very old, and it shows.
The air conditioning is blowing directly on you, so you're constantly too hot or freezing.
The layout is a nightmare. Many, many, many stairs. Very difficult to navigate, and to simply get to your room.
Speaking of stairs, they are often uneven and unsafe. Careful!
Music at the pool is Pitbull on repeat.
Bring bottled water, as what comes out of the faucet is warm and you're not gonna want it.
Incredibly inauthentic experience of Mexico. Basically a crappy version of a Vegas resort.
But there's good news! There are much better places, kinder people, and wayyyy cheaper experiences nearby. No need to mess with this hotel! Don't walk, RUN. Very fast, and far away from here. Find a better place than Hilton - in fact, I'm unclear why that brand associates itself with this dumpster fire.
The view is nice. The food was pretty good. But you can get ceviche and aguachile many, many other places.
If you are 75, don't care about sleep or privacy, want to hang with only Americans, sleep outside, and pay a ton? This is your spot. Welcome...
