My boyfriend and I recently went to Isla Mujeres for vacation. Him being a chef and I being a server, both have extensive (12+ years each) of restaurant experience on the food side as well as the service side. We love eating at new places and especially so in different countries and on our travels.
Our dining experience at Xaman was one of the best we’ve had…EVER. Everything from the atmosphere to our amazing server, the drinks, food presentation and flavor, uniqueness and creativity of the dishes, post dinner blessing, price, ALL OF IT!
We absolutely LOVED the hibiscus Al pastor tacos, the delicious sauces and accessibility for me, as I’m both dairy & gluten sensitive, without compromising the integrity of the dishes. The ingredients were fresh, colorful, unique and delectable.
We loved it so much we came back again on our last night, we were there for 5 nights, to finish our vacay on a high note.
The cacao ceremony after dinner was a highlight for us too as we felt included and invited into a cultural immersion unlike one we’ve ever had.
Thank you all at Xaman for executing and sharing such a thoughtful, unique, fun, delicious and inclusive restaurant. I wish more restaurants put as much creativity, passion and intention behind not only the food but the entire dining experience as you all have.

They gave us chicken fingers and fries and shrimp with sauce and soggy fries. They ran out of rice in a Mexican restaurant. They didn't bother to tell us and after until we got the food and waited 2 hours for dinner. They also did not think to separate the fries and not stick it in a pool of sauce. The food and the service where terrible not sure why people gave great reviews. This was not...
Read moreThere are not enough words to describe the incredible experience Xaman Restaurant Bar offered us three times over our week long stay. The drinks are gorgeous and delicious. The service from Raphael is something you don't find everyday... super energetic, friendly, courteous, and he's definitely on top of things. And the food...THE FOOD!! This is a menu created with love, full of pre-hispanic explosive flavors, so appealing to the eye, priced very reasonably, and simply fantastic! Both of the owners took time to come and describe how the restaurant came about and were more than willing to answer any and all questions. 10 out of 10! Go here before you can't get in! Thanks again guys. Pam...
