Located just a stone's throw from the lake, my partner, his family, our friends and I can see why this establishment is consistently a top rated restaurant in Ajijic. Upon entering yesterday for dinner, Tango Ajijic itself is very warm with beautiful paintings on the wall, thatched roof and fans. A pretty extensive menu featuring just about anything you could imagine in both English and Spanish. This restaurant employs a small army of wait staff and unfortunately didn’t get the name of our server. Complimentary warm rolls started the meal with various condiments such as butter and chimichurri sauce. For appetizers, we started out with various empanadas. For entrees, several salads were ordered, 14 oz Skirt Steak (Arrachera) with pasta, Grilled Provolone Cheese, and Chicken with Alfredo. The salads were excellent, huge portions and would make a great main course for vegetarians. If you've ever had Arrachera (skirt steak), one knows it's supposed to be cooked quickly over high heat, to seal in the flavor and melt the considerable amount of fat. My Arrachera was near that quantity but slightly salty. Good food selection prepared to perfection. A pleasant ambiance and good prices which we can recommend.

For several years now we have had bad experiences at this restaurant. We keep giving them chances, because we know people can have off days. But we went this week and we will not be returning. No more chances. The chistorra was very dry and burnt. The spinach and artichoke dip was very runny and flavorless. But what takes the cake is that our brochetas de filete de res were raw. Nothing on the skewer was cooked properly. I unfortunately took two bites before I discovered it was raw. It tasted off. It was the whitest beef I’ve ever had and the inside was very raw. The tomatoes were not cooked. The onions and bell peppers were not cooked. When we mentioned this to the waiter he just shrugged his shoulders and cleared the table. No apologies. Past experience told us that bringing it up to a manager does no good. We will not be going back. Unfortunately, the two of us that had the brochetas were very ill from it.

This restaurant has great ambiance. From the outdoors, you can't see the inside has a thatched roof and is partially open air. Great tropical, Mexican feel. We started with 2 very tasty empenadas and a crispy, fresh Greek salad. I had the 4 cheese lasagna that was very cheesy, had correctly cooked noodles and just the right amount of sauce. It was great. My husband had spaghetti with butter and sage, and it was just a great balance of the ingredients that made it one of his favorite meals on this trip. We ate everything so quickly that I only remembered to take a photo when we just had desert left. It was vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, strawberrys and chocolate sauce that was a perfect end to the meal! This looks like a popular place for large groups, and there were several here during our visit. We enjoyed this place and will come back!

Wow. I'm about a block away from this restaurant and read about it this afternoon. After talking to my brother about dinner plans, we decided to go here. What an amazing decision! The space is great! It's inside but outside too. You walk into the building but there is a treated thatched roof the exposes parts of the ceiling to the elements. It's really great! The staff is incredible. Very attentive and friendly. I loved our waitress but sadly I don't remember her name. We had the parillada, which is 5 different meats brought to your table on a small grill. It was delicious! But we started with the grilled octopus, loved it! But again, the parillada was so so good! It's almost too much for two but great for three, I would think. I highly recommend this restaurant. I think I'll be going back before I leave for home in a couple of days!

My Mom and I went to Tango with some friends last week(June 2021). They were quite busy but the place flowed like a well oiled machine. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I got the Grilled Octopus with the Garlic and mushrooms..I think it's the best Octopus I've ever had. Even my Mom was floored with the tenderness and flavor..it was truly amazing! Our friends ordered the beef carpaccio which was a hit..but they come here frequently. I got the 17oz Rib eye..it was perfectly cooked and the flavor was amazing. Great food and drinks with great service. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Drinks were good (Pina colada, mojito, and white Russian, Conga, and strawberry margarita). Tamarind Martini was very interesting, worth a try if you are adventurous. Rolls were tasty with either the herb sauce or the spicy salsa. Stuffed portobello was delicious. Spinach empanadas were good, but a little more bready than I expected, Argentina style i think. Fried basa was huge and had good breading. Grilled salmon medium rare was very good. Like the sweet potatoes and vegetables, not so much the parmesan fries. Creole salad was fine, but 2 heart of palms salad was great.
