We went twice, and the first time we both ordered pizzas and shared a Roma salad; the second time my husband ordered pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni and I had the Spaghetti Bologna, and again we shared a salad. (This second time I also had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and took a serving of gelato back to our room with me.) The food was exquisite, and I wished I'd ordered the entire Roma salad for myself. My husband loved his pizza both times; my Orto pizza was superb, although I might have preferred if they'd added the spinach just at the end, so that it was barely cooked. The Spaghetti Bologna was very good, and they made it to my requirements, with no bell pepper. Also, the servers both times were diligent and attentive, particularly on April 18, and the atmosphere and decor of the place are lovely. (Take time to enjoy the festive musical birthday tributes from servers-- there were several each night we were there, and they made us both smile broadly.)

I would say that, unless you're quite tall, aim for a table with the grey upholstered chairs (my husband asked to switch his chair partway through dinner). When sitting on the booth bench and round chair, I had to roll up my bag and sit on it, to put myself at a comfortable height...

We have eaten at this resturant every year that we visit Puerto Vallarta. We have always been extremely impressed with both the quality of service and the quality of the food. This year at there new location, the quality of there food and service has increased significantly, if that were possible. Although there are many other Italian resturant options in Puerto Vallarta, thus is definitely our preferred choice. On Mar 27th my wife and I visited LA Dolce for a farewell dinner before heading home to Canada. After having a wonderful pasta dinner with excellent service my wife and i were preparing to leave the resturant. My wife, who has mobility issues, was having difficulties pushing her chair back so she could stand. One of the staff rushed over, helped my wife to stand. He then offered my wife his arm and assisted her to walk through the resturant, out the doors and down the steps to the parking lot. Chivalry is not dead. Words can't express how impressed we were with the way we were treated and I cant help but think that this is the way the staff treat all there customers. What a wonderful place to have a first class...

i've been here three times and it's been great/consistent each visit- it's across the street from where i stay.

first time solo in May: ordered the meat-stuffed tortellini with tomato sauce. it was tasty but the serving size was too small so that was disappointing! came with delicious garlic bread but I still wanted more pasta. for dessert they had a special chocolate lava cake served with vanilla ice cream which i hope they put on their regular dessert menu!!

second visit with my friend for a late lunch: she ordered the linguine scolglio which she really enjoyed. i didn't want meat at the time so i ordered the spaghetti al pesto which was good for what it was. they gave us bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil- it was good but not comparable to the garlic bread. it was my birthday so they gave us cannolis topped with chocolate ice cream. i enjoyed the dessert- it had nuts so my friend couldn't eat it because she is allergic.

third visit solo in July: carpaccio bellagio was delicious and fresh! penne al formaggi was amazing too- i added shrimp. so far it's my favorite...

The service and atmosphere is great and that's where the greatness ends. First, my chianti was very sweet, and tasted more like a dessert wine. All of our courses were served at once, but it was served quickly. So, bread, salad and meals all together. My lasagna was cold and the noodles were way overcooked. Honestly, it tasted microwaved. I have never had disappointing lasagna, ever...Until today. My husband had spaghetti and it was perfect. His noodles were al dente and hot. The bread was toasted slices with not much flavor. The side salad was simple, lettuce, cucumbers and celery. The tiramisu was the best part of the meal. My advice would be skip dinner and have a dessert and coffee. The atmosphere is really nice. There are cozy booths and comfortable chairs. It's tastefully decorated. If you're celebrating, they bring out cakes that look like they have a Roman candle on top, minus the explosion. Our server was really attentive and professional. Overall, I think I might pass on this place in the future and this is our usual mainstay in our annual visits to PVR.

This is one of three restaurant sisters in P.V., the other two named La Dolce Vita. Each restaurant has essentially the same menu (with dish names varying) but different vibes. La Dolce seems like the elegant middle sister and is clearly a place locals frequent for special occasions. The wood fire pizzas simply cannot be beaten and the cocktails are potent and beautifully presented. Service is quick and attentive. Valet parking (50 pesos) makes arrival and departure a snap. Best of all, the price is incredibly reasonable! We would happily pay more the combination of food, service, and ambience. For a romantic dinner for two, a special family memory, or just for pizza on a Friday night, La Dolce is your spot.
