Skydive Vallarta — Attraction in Jalisco

This review is for my Tuesday, 2-22-22 at 4:30pm experience.

I initially came across Skydive Vallarta while I was looking into potential activities while planning my birthday trip to PV. After reviewing the company’s website, I booked for myself and my friend. Why not sky dive for the first time ever in such a beautiful place?!

Once in Puerto Vallarta the meetup location was found with relative ease; you walk into the Peninsula Plaza Vallarta Mall and take the escalator downstairs (from street level). You’ll approach the back of the mall and walk toward the fenced area, then turn to the right, and walk a little ways forward until the meet-up site/office comes into view.

Everyone in the office was friendly and professional, from the lady at the front desk, to the staff giving instructions in English & Spanish, and of course our tandem instructors. They were also good about having sanitizer available and people wearing masks inside. There is a brief instructional video to watch followed by body positioning demonstrations (think “banana”) for optimal tandem skydiving. All jumpers return demonstrate these positions and are allowed time to ask questions.

There ended up being a total of 4 of us in my group: my friend and I and also this pair of guys. We were accompanied by our videographers and tandem instructors- all were great but I particularly want to shout out Victor, Sam, and of course my tandem instructor Lucio!

I had lots of nervous excitement as we boarded the small plane and then of course because I had the lucky seat by the door we were to jump out of! But, Lucio was good at keeping the nervousness at bay and being reassuring. We enjoyed a scenic flight of PV as we climbed to jumping height. The tandem instructors go through safety checks very thoroughly before reaching the appropriate altitude.

And then the moment of truth comes! I was first up to tandem jump and felt the nerves escalate as the door opened. But you just breathe and go for it, and wow is it a great feeling! The free fall felt like it went by so fast! And the scenic parachuting down was nice, you kind of get to help “fly” the parachute with the tandem instructor. The landing was nice and I felt safe the entire time.

The staff was polite and helpful. I jumped with the owner and his worker. Both were so nice and took so many amazing pictures and videos to remember this amazing adventure. Upon arrival you watch an informational video to prepare for the jump. Next you are fitted up for you harness and driven to the airport. I would recommend removing jewelry and anything in you pockets before leaving . From there you go through security and then directly onto the plane.

The airplane was clean and well maintained. It has huge windows which makes the plan ride up almost as exciting as the jump.

As you get higher you are locked in and reminded of the instructions from the video again. If you are doing pictures/video another diver will jump first to get the pictures.

After being pushed out of the plane I fell for a little over a minute over the breathtaking Puerto Vallarta coastline. Once the parachute is deployed it is allot like parasailing and I could remove my classes for a better view.

Had a soft landing on the sandy beach directly behind the location of the business along the Rio Pitillal.

Getting the picture packaged was well worth the money since they took so many high quality photos and created a custom video of my experience that was done really well. You can tell they have a professional doing the video editing and setting it to music in just the right parts. 10...

We just had the BEST skydiving experience!! My husband and I took our 3 boys- ages 15, 13 and 11. I was definitely nervous- not only for myself but having to possible manage all my kids emotions. What if we got up there and they didn’t want to jump? What if I didn’t jump? Are they too young? Ack! But it couldn’t have been better experience- everyone makes you feel so comfortable and safe! We had Basti, Fercho, Victor and Diego. It was top notch! They step you through every single step of the process and answer all your questions. They know what they are doing and safety is sooooo important. Coming from the States I wasn’t sure what to expect and it couldn’t have been better. The best way to kick off a vacation in PV.
