We stopped by here because I was very hungry and it was right on the beach. This is the only restaurant I regret visiting while in Puerto Vallarta. The food was mediocre at best and the service, despite only three other tables at the restaurant, was very slow. I wanted a couple beers after walking up and down the Malecon, but our waiter never came by to ask if we wanted any other drinks. We saw three or four servers just hanging out at the bar talking the entire time we were there.
We ordered nachos to start and had "simple" (cheese) quesadillas and a chicken burrito for our mains. The nachos were the "highlight" of the meal. The cheese on them was great, but the toppings were very unevenly applied and the chicken looked boiled and had no flavor. The burrito was absolutely MASSIVE but had the same flavorless chicken in it. Cheese quesadillas were decent...
There are so many restaurants around the area and you're better served trying any other one. The view was quite nice and I'm pretty sure that's why this place is still open. I really, really hate leaving negative reviews, but this is my honest opinion of the place. On the positive side, everyone we (rarely) interacted with was very nice!!!
Enjoyed watching the birds fight for...
Read moreThe food was so so but the view was great. It’s right on the beach so you can enjoy the view while having food. There was live music performance when we were there for lunch. There were lots of vendors coming to our table trying to sell trinkets, paintings, and even foot messages. There were too many of them and it got kinda annoying. Be aware this restaurant is like many others, they only take CASH. Pesos or American dollars with way below market exchange rate. If you don’t have enough pesos or American dollars on you. they tell you to go an US dollar ATM machine which charges a terrible exchange rate and a processing fee of US$10. After everything we ended up paying double the amount than what we would’ve paid with pesos. I personally think it was a...
Read moreRight on the malecon, Oceano Azul is definitely a place to visit. We were waited on by 3 people and one was the owner. Recommendations were made and we went with that. We started with Margaritas and guacamole and chips and salsa. Excellent!! Our main dishes were Coconut Shrimp, and shrimp and cheese burger. My coconut shrimp was perfect. The breading was fresh coconut which was very tasty and crunchy. There was a mango dipping sauce which had a sweet taste to compliment the shrimp. Oceano Azul is on the beach with an excellent view where we were able to watch the whales jump out of the water. The only down fall was cloth table coverings, which were not changed. I recommend...
