Romea — Restaurant in Jalisco

Horrible place and staff. Stopped by for a glass of wine and a bite to eat on a beautiful sunny fall afternoon. They had about 20 tables open tables perhaps more. Most with nice outside views. We sat down at one, we were then told it was reserved, walked towards another with nice views and one of the waiters actually put a reserved sign on the table as we were trying to move to it. We were then told everything was reserved so they stuck us at the worse table they have with an inward wall view next to the wait station. Checked OpenTable and they are wide open all evening so it was obviously a lie.

I wouldn’t come back here simply because there are so many other choices in the area with staff that doesn’t lie at restaurants that don’t pretend to have reserved tables that are in fact empty so that they (the staff and restaurant) can feel...

El encargado amable, los meseros también, pero me sentí invisible muchas veces que necesitaba un mesero y nadie nos volteaba a ver, muy tardado que nos llevaran el menú, las servilletas, que nos tomarán la orden, la cuenta, la terminal …

No había mesa disponible y nos pasaron a barra mientras se desocupaba una mesa, que más tarde si se desocupó una y nos cambiaron, lo cual agradecí porque la barra a pesar de estar bonita no deja de estar incómoda (poco espacio, banco alto, muy cercano a otras personas).

Me estresó demasiado que NO HAY MENÚ DE BEBIDAS, me dice el encargado no tenemos Menú pero tenemos gran variedad tu pide, pido una piña colada y no venden, eso me hizo sentir muy incómoda 😣 tener que imaginar cuales bebidas son las que sí venden. Cuando en realidad me gusta probar algo distinto cada vez. Total pedí un capuchino simple porque olía muy rico a café y no me gustó 😢 se me hizo el sabor muy fuerte, no muy dulce, no era lo que esperaba.

Tampoco me gustó que nos llevaron el código QR para escanear el menú y se fueron, y al escanearlo envía directamente a Instagram, y me estresó pensar que tampoco tenían menú real solo fotos sin descripción? Así hasta que preguntamos y nos explicaron que en IG hay un link en la descripción que te lleva al menú (que alivio).

El menú no tiene mucha variedad en algunas cosas, por ejemplo, venden dos tipos de ensalada, dos tipos de postre.

No hay lugar exclusivo de estacionamiento hay que quedarse en la calle, con parquímetro en los horarios correspondientes, y nosotros nos quedamos a un costado de una tienda, donde no había cochera, letrero de no estacionarse ni nada, no tardamos mucho en el lugar (aprox 1hr) y cuando salimos una señora siguiéndonos con mirada de pistola, pensamos que nos iba asaltar, y en eso sale un señor de al lado de la tienda y se nos queda viendo también fijamente, hasta que nos dimos cuenta que estaban esperando el lugar donde nos habíamos estacionado para dejar allí su...

Heard so many people rave about this place so had to check it out. Always packed when we drove by. Went on a Monday night around 7 and it was pretty dead. Good beer suggestion, wine seemed overpriced compared to other places but good. Got the tabla chica which was good but wasn't anything special compared to what I'm used to in the states- typical meet and cheese board. Very fresh and affordable but I think it is just more of a novelty here, thus all the gushing about this place. Being a solo traveler I felt this place lacked atmosphere for solo dining, but it would be a great place for a group to share the various boards and enjoy the drink selection.
