Tacos de Birria — Restaurant in Jalisco

Best birria I've ever had. Family-owned local business for more than 50 years run by Veronica (her parents founded the business) and Miguel (her husband and chef). 80 pesos gets you 3 tacos, consumé (beef broth), and a drink.

Tacos are made fresh to order, and Miguel the chef uses the drippings from the stewed meat to crisp the outside tortilla on the grill. They have salsa roja (medium) and salsa verde (mild) as well as fresh cucumbers and lime.

Consumé is very comforting and warm.

There is also an option of a single larger taco with cheese instead of the 3 standard tacos.

Miguel speaks excellent English as well. Far better than any of the nearby tourist-centered taco restaurants. Definitely my go to for lunch anytime I'm in the area. Nothing else comes close.
