My first Michelin star restaurant experience since Covid Lockdown and it did not disappoint. I felt celebrating my first trip outside my home state of Oregon in a year and a half was worth splurging on a great meal.
Reservations were a breeze and a definite must. I recommend booking them on the app OpenTable or give them a call. Parking was easy to find on a side street and the GPS got us to the location without any fuss.
We were greeted at the front and shown to our table on the back patio. I would highly recommend trying to request a table on the patio. You have a view of the river flowing by, large trees cover the area and the cool breeze off the water was refreshing. We were warned of mosquitoes but didn't have any trouble at all.The tables inside have a different ambiance with a nice view of the open kitchen showcasing the hustle and bustle of food being prepped and a beautiful Victorian style staircase.
The menu is broken up into two parts. One is an 8 course tasting menu with optional wine pairings or Ala carte. I wanted something extra special and so asked for an off menu experience - an 8 course chef choice. They were gracious to accommodate.
Every dish they brought out was introduced with a colorful background story or ingredient list. The ingredients were locally sourced and prepared with traditional as well as international flavors. The meal ranged from deep fried crab, ahi ceviche, mackerel and special ice cream made from local fruit. The flavors danced on my tongue and enraptured my senses. I would say the most innovative dish was the 36hr tomatoe. This is one of their signature dishes and is not to be missed!
After the meal they offered us some coffee and tea but we were so full and thoroughly satisfied. They also didn't immediately try to turn over the table but purposefully let us enjoy the cool evening on the patio to digest everything. It was a very relaxing yet titillating gastronomic experience. The price was in line for such a meal that with drinks, 8 course chef choice and tip it came to about $7900 pesos for 3 ppl.
WORTH. EVERY. PESOS.
The food, service and experience was excellent and deserving of all the hype. If you are looking for a unique and special Puerto Vallarta foodie experience make sure to put Tintoque at the top...
Read moreOur absolute favorite place to dine out in Vallarta! My hubby and I make sure to visit every time we are in town. We have always done the tasting menu, which is divine, but tonight we we didn’t have as much time so we ordered a la carte. After telling the server our order he told us he thought it was too much food (when does that ever happen??). We ended up ordering 2 first courses, 1 2nd course and a main, which turned out to be exactly the right amount of food. They even gave us a chef’s choice starter and a dessert for free! A la carte options are completely different than the tasting menu, and equallly as delicious- you really can’t go wrong no matter what you order here! Stars of the show were the fried chicken main, rubber glove included so as not to get messy while you dilp your perfectly fried drumstick in the tangy dipping sauce - as well as the melts-in-your-mouth otoro appetizer. The dessert served compliments of the chef was a cinnamon ice cream served with some kind of crunchy things that melted delightfully in your mouth, all on top of some nuts and caramel sauce. We would go back just to order that again.
To sum up, this restaurant is our favorite spot in pv because of its serene location(make sure to reserve a seat on their patio which abuts the rio cuale (whose flow varies with the seasons, we got it on a briskly flowing night i late October, but have also been there in winter when it’s a bit more stagnant, as well as a consistently high quality of unique creations that never seem to miss the mark
If you are a foodie and looking for 1 great date night dinner, this is your place. PV has a few other fantastic dinner spots, but the uniqueness and quality of tintoque keeps us...

Located in a rustic neighborhood, very nice dining room and open kicthen. The view from the outside dining area could be improved. The quality of the table and cutleries are 10/10.
The cocktails menu requires you try something new. They bring out an aboriginal drink called tuba to start with, it is amazing.
The menu is very original, unique and limited in scope but caters to all diets.
The cocktails come well presented and are delicous but cannot compete with the tuba drink served earlier. (Great quality straws)
For the appetizers we got the fried octopus and bread and butter.
They came fresh and well presented. The bread and butter was fresh and rich in flavor. The fried octopus was perfectly cooked and an experience to eat, although i usually prefer octopus well done (i am the exception).
For the main course we got the lamb (good for 2 ppl) and the grilled cabbage one of the vegan options.
The grilled cabbage dish was a very unique mesh of flavors the complemented each other very well. The lamb was a shawarma style wrap that was elevated by taking you to both mexico and the middle east with each bite. The quality of ingridients outshine in every bite.
The customer service was Excellent, catered to every need and paid attention to all the little details (asking you what garnish you would like in your water, providing context to each dish, and offering to ask the chef for custom options). You will truly feel at home here.
I give this a solid 4.7/5, the 0.3 deduction was due to the limited cocktail menu which was very unique making it difficult to know what you would enjoy.
Highly...
