Terrible customer relations and service. Not only do the people in charge not care or take responsibility, but the Owner herself doesn’t care or take responsibility.
I ate there (and several times before) on 23DEC2021. While the two of us were there, the man playing music there talked about their New Year’s Eve night - 750MX per person and music that evening.
We called over the waitress, and she brought over one of the girls from the front desk. She had a book, and took my name, phone number - I even gave her my email. I reserved a table for four for New Year’s Eve at 8:00pm. She didn’t ask for or take a deposit from me. Done.
On New Year’s Eve, our party of four show up and they tell us “we’re not in the book”. “See, your name isn’t here.” She offers to sit us outside the celebration and the music near the street. I said, I made the reservation and that’s to sit in the room WITH the music… that’s the whole point of the reservation, and its not my fault you failed to put my name down, as I made the reservation 8 days before and it was confirmed by YOUR employee.
I asked to talk to the manager or someone in charge, and she said “the owner will be here in 10 minutes”. So I said I would wait.
The owner comes in, and - bottom line - gives me the same spiel. No “sorrys” no apologies, nothing. I went so far as pointing to the table we sat at, where we made the reservation over a week before, and showed her my credit card charge showing the night we were there.
The name of the restaurant is now Trattoria Di Nuovo… but before the divorce of the owners and separation of the business, it was BOCCON DI VINO - I know, I’ve eaten there many times before and after the change. Well, the charges came through on my credit card under the prior name. The owner ACTUALLY TOLD ME THAT WAS NOT THEM!!! She either doesn’t know or lied! She has to know the prior name of the restaurant SHE OWNED WITH HER HUSBAND at that time!!! Unbelievable!!
See what I mean?
Do not patronize the establishment. She & they do not deserve our business. She lied and I had to take my party out to search elsewhere - at the last moment. Disgusting.
Last note: After I showed her the charge in the prior restaurants name (look at your charge from there - it will be under BOCCON DI VINO not Trattoria Di Nuovo) ~ She actually told me “I must be mistaken and ate somewhere else”, making a reservation not there but another place!!! To which I told her I will Never come back again, and will tell everyone else I know. ~ no big concern showed by her...
Read moreMy wife and I recently stumbled upon this newer Italian restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, and it absolutely blew us away. The portions were generous (understatement of the year!)—my chicken parmigiana was massive, perfectly breaded, and smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce that tasted like it came straight out of Nonna’s kitchen. My wife ordered the lasagna, and it was everything you want in comfort food: dense, hearty, and layered with love.
The sauces here are truly something special—clearly homemade and packed with bold, balanced flavor. We couldn’t leave without trying dessert, and we’re glad we didn’t. Every bite was decadent and beautifully presented.
The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel genuinely welcome, and the atmosphere had a warm, lively charm that added to the whole experience. We’re already talking about coming back. If you’re in PV and craving top-notch Italian, this place is a must-visit.

A charming covered courtyard provided atmosphere that was just the start of a great dining experience. Sitting under palms in a quiet, relaxed garden was pleasant and romantic.
The service was terrific. The waitress was pleasant, knowledgeable and confident. She looked in on us at all the appropriate times and served drinks and food with good timing.
The food was great. I had the house-pappardelle with sausage, mushrooms and olives. It tasted bright and fresh. The sauce was silky and hearty without heaviness. The pasta was tender and perfectly al dente.
Our other dish was chicken Parmesan that was prepared the way it was meant to be prepared. A crunchy thin breading, very tender chicken and the perfect slice of cheese. It was served on a generous bed of roasted vegetables.
Both dishes were plated beautifully and the pricing was right on.
We will...
