While visiting Puerto Vallarta, my wife and I really wanted to enjoy a dish fried red snapper. These dishes are local favorites, which we need to experience on every visit to Puerto Vallarta.
While walking the Malecón, We searched for a restaurant and found Mariscos Cisneros. This restaurant is located at the beginning of the romantic zone, roughly a 6-minute walk from the flea market on the river on the Malecón.
When we entered the restaurant, we were received a warm greeting and were offered a table either inside or on the outside courtyard. We decided to sit inside and enjoy the simple local vibe.
Mariscos Cisneros a cozy, friendly family-owned. They take great pride in the food they prepare and the service they provide. They explained to us every ingredient that was in each of the three sauces that they prepared in house, as well as both dishes we ordered! Proud that all the ingredients were fresh and local. We shared a special of shrimp stuffed calamari stuffed shrimp and a fried red snapper! Both were excellent!! So tasty! Very fresh! The dishes combined with a few Pacifico's made for a great lunch!
Highly recommend. We will be returning on...
Read moreI like the ambience of this authentic-looking restaurant, and its location is perfect, just as we get off the El Tuito bus in Zona Romantica, close enough to the taco street vendors on Aguacate Street, if you're on a food tasting tour. There is no A/C, and to save electricity, the fans are only turned on when you're sitted. The service was tired and without a smile, understandbly given the fact that I visited it in the evening, after a hot day in October 2020. The menu is written in English as well, which is helpful. At lunch time, the restaurant was crowded, but at dinner time there were only 3 parties, 2 of which were sitting outside, in the back. Because of the mandated social distancing, I was forced to sit at a table inside, and it felt like an oven. The ceviche tostadas were very tasty and inexpensive (if my memory serves me right, about 24MX each). The shrimp and octopus quesadilla was a "miss" though. The shrimp was overcooked, therefore chewy, probably reheated from the lunch leftovers. I would return for the ceviche tostadas if I were in the...
Read moreThis restaurant is truly a hidden gem. It's located away from some of the busier parts of La Zona Romantica and is rather unassuming from the outside. Unless you're on a food tour, you probably wouldn't even notice it.
The menu has several types of seafood tostada's, tacos, and burritos in addition to some main courses, ceviches and seafood cocktails. The cold mixed seafood cocktail was excellent and priced very well. My wife got the catch of the day (Dorado) and it was excellent.
Speaking of cocktails, while the drink selection is somewhat limited compared to other restaurants, the quality and strength of the drinks is superior. The margaritas are excellent and pretty strong. And you can't beat 20 pesos for a Pacifico.
Great service, casual atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. 4 margaritas, a beer, and 2 entrees came out to 620 pesos. Everything is is prepared fresh to order so they were even able to accommodate my wife's food allergies. Just be aware it...
