The place has an open window with 2 seats and 2 tables on the street with no chairs. 2 people sitting on the chairs and 2 people sitting on the curb. The guy told me that because it’s “Artisanal” it will take “37” minutes to make a whole pizza. It should take 10-15 minutes for a pizza this thin to cook, less if it were a wood burning oven. So for four slices it was $200 pesos. Not impressed. A whole pizza cost $300 pesos!! The guy also told me that I can scan the QR code and WhatsApp to order a pizza and I can pick it up. Not true, there’s a phone number, I guess could try to WhatsApp but it doesn’t state that on google maps. The menu section only has photos of pizza slices with lots of mozzarella cheese, my slices hardly had any cheese. Sorry but this is my observation of the place. It looked clean the guy spoke English even though I tried to speak Spanish. I couldn’t see the other person baking the pizza because they had 2 customers sitting in front of the window. I really want to be positive about this place but I don’t see any reason to lie. I see that they have positive reviews but I love pizza and I can bake my own pizza and yes the crust is light but I don’t taste sourdough I taste lots of salt. It is better than los muertos...
Read moreUsually great pizza and service if you go in person but don’t waste your time calling/using WhatsApp to place an order for pick up. We went in person to place an order for two take out pizzas. When we asked about calling in to place an order, we were told that they do not pick up the phone if they are busy with walk up customers. Odd business practice but fair enough I guess. Then we were told it would be a 45 minute wait for the pizzas. Not ideal after trying to call in to place an order, but then we went to pay we were asked how much tip we wanted to add. To take our order and tell us that they do not answer take out calls when they are helping people who walk up to buy a slice of pizza? After a nice stroll to the end of the Malecon, we arrived back to pick up our order a little early at 40 minutes. The pizzas were already done and waiting for us to pick up. After the 10 minute walk home, the pizzas were no longer hot and the bottoms of both pizzas were soggy. Like I said, the pizza is tasty and the service is usually good, so we will return to grab a slice but will not try to place an order for full pizzas for...
Read moreAs frequent visitors to Puerto Vallarta, we are always looking for someplace new to eat. I’ve walked past Pizza el Punto probably a dozen times or more on my way to the carniceria, which is a couple doors down.
I always knew we would end up trying it eventually. Well, last night we finally did and we were not disappointed. I just had a feeling it would be delicious and it was!
These pizza’s are not the traditional round pizza’s, they are square.
The two of us each ordered two pieces, one each of the pepperoni and the other was fresh spinach, mozzarella and fresh tomato’s…both were excellent. Oh, and they even asked us if we preferred a center piece or one with crust from the edge.
The two owners were there and were very friendly and welcoming. We started chatting with one of them and he explained their process of making their sourdough crust which was just right. Not too thick and not too thin. I now refer to their crust as the Goldilocks crust.
