The four decorative stone arches, known as Los Arcos del Malecón, are a well-known landmark in Puerto Vallarta, often considered as recognizable as The Boy on the Seahorse statue. Originally brought from a Guadalajara hacienda in 1970 for a summit between Mexican President Gustavo Díaz Ordaz and U.S. President Richard Nixon, they were destroyed by Hurricane Kenna in 2002. A replica, commissioned by the municipal government of Zapopan and sculpted by Martín Distancia, was completed in December 2002. The arches are a popular cultural and artistic site, frequently used as a backdrop for performances and events along...

The room we were in 409 had a foul smell when we arrived and when the storm came we found out why. There was a leak in the room which penetrated into the room thru the A.C. unit which come to find out they knew about it and still decided to rent us the room. The other couple we went along with also had a water leak in their room due to some type of pipe bursting and their AC stopped working. The remedy to the AC was portable fans which did not help due to the heat and 85% humidity during those days and the obnoxious sound of the fans due to being old. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS...

An older hotel in the romantic district. A bit crowded and noisy for my liking but it’s a good location on the beach. Good for morning walks. Rooms are ok with cold AC but very noisy if you are facing the pools. They hold events when groups are there and loudspeakers and music are the norm from early morning on. The staff were attentive but some of the reception staff can be rude and inconsiderate but make a fuss and a manager will jump on the case quickly. Will probably try a different hotel next time.

One of the most photographed structures in Puerto Vallarta. It's a monument that consists of four arches and five columns, that's about it. Located along the Malecon, it's a popular place for photos and a good landmark for meetings. The monument itself is not particularly impressive or interesting. Once you snap your photo you'll be done with it, and probably never look at it twice again.
