This was an annoying and disappointing experience.
What was sold as a 4 hour excursion is really a 120$usd 40 minute ATV ride on a single file trail stretched out into 4 hours. Let me explain further.
We arrived for checkin (20mins before pickup) with a polite and competent lady. Pickup was 10 mins late (no big deal!). However when we arrived it was constant chiding to hurry along - such a weird scenario. I felt like a preschooler on one of those group ropes - at every juncture.
Our group was prompted to tip the driver - had the guy had a microphone or shared some Info I’d say “sure makes sense”. But I dont think he spoke once the whole way.
Then the guides - aside from explaining the technical operation of the ATV or giving specific direction to get off /stop etc, they may have said a dozen other words. This isn’t a language barrier issue as everything rolled in Spanish. No explanations or interpretations of where we are or what is around of why the bridge was built or what it connects etc.
What was really bizarre was that the parking lot from where you leave is like 100ft from the actual Jorullo bridge! So you drive and stop for 30 mins a waterfall for a swim which is pretty cool, then stop at their hilltop bar for another 15 mins, drive for 5 mins after the pit stop, cross the jorullo, then you’re back in the parking lot. Once there you have to wait an hour for the return shuttle - how convient you have time to spend more money in the restaurant, haha. Now I know why they were hurrying us:)
Anyway, you can also buy your pictures for 60$ (which all look the same). The picture guy keeps passing you along the trail and kicks up a pile of dust in doing so.
Bridge was cool but for the...
Read moreExciting excursion! We went with a group of 20 (10 kids & 10 adults) and used their open air bus from Centro which was about a 25 minute drive. Upon arrival, they give you a quick overview and provide a chest to lock all of your possessions. They do not allow phones or cameras other than helmet or chest mounted GoPros. (There is no phone signal, just FYI) Our guides (Chuy, Marco, Diego, and Rafad) were professional and entertaining! All of the children were under 13, including some 6 year olds. They worked very well with the young ones and were very reassuring to everyone! There is some physical exertion as you climb the mountain in the first half of the zip lines. Amazing views as criss cross the river between mountain peaks! The consensus for our group was that the mule ride back up the mountain was the most nerve racking. The infinity pool was an amazing way to cool back down and relax and enjoy the views. The tequila tasting was information and entertaining as well! You may want to plan an extra hour or two to enjoy these amenities. Definitely...
Read moreMy husband and I did the hiking tour and loved it. This company is a well oiled machine. We walked to their office in Zona Romantica, then caught their shuttle bus that took us up the mountain. It was very organized with different colored wrist bands depending on what activity you were doing. My husband and I were the only hikers that day, so we had a private hiking tour with Felix. He was very knowledgeable about the plants and history of the region, great personality and made the hike fun. He lead us through the jungle in what I would consider a moderate hike (we are 55 years old and pretty active). We hiked to the waterfall and were the only ones there at the time to enjoy the water. The highlight to us was the suspension bridge...SO cool! We would recommend this hike to any moderate level hikers...and ask...
