An unforgettable experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a vibrant, festive atmosphere that immediately told me this is Mexican.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the chicken fajitas the aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. The chicken was perfectly cooked – tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning was impeccable, striking the perfect balance between savory and spicy, without overwhelming the palate.

Accompanied by a generous portion of sautéed bell peppers and onions, each bite was a delightful mix of textures and tastes. The fresh tortillas, served alongside, were soft and warm, ideal for wrapping up the delicious mixture. Additionally, the sides of guacamole, sour cream, provided the perfect complements, allowing me to customize each bite to my liking.

The presentation was top-notch, with vibrant colors that made the dish as pleasing to the eyes as it was to the taste buds. The portion size was generous, ensuring that I left completely satisfied.

The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our glasses were never empty, all while maintaining a friendly and welcoming demeanor.

Overall, Yves' exceeded my expectations in every way. The ambiance, the exceptional food, and the outstanding service combined to create a dining experience that I will remember fondly. If you’re in the mood for authentic Mexican cuisine, I highly recommend visiting. The chicken fajitas alone are worth the trip, but the entire experience is something special. Five stars...

Yves Restaurant Bar is a quaint eatery with pretty good fare. It is a fairly unique setting that includes a large round pool surrounded on three sides by tables. Several donkeys on the grounds added a nice touch and emphasised their pet friendly policy. Although the setting is pretty cool, it is a bit rough around the edges and could use a bit of elbow grease to fix walking areas and level out areas where tables sit... our table was noticeably slanted, as were most others.

Our group of eight ordered drinks and waited... and waited. After drinks were finally served, we waited again for a long period (about 20 min) for the server to ask if we were ready to order. Once again, after ordering, the waiting began. After about 40-45 minutes, our food began arriving. We were seated at 6pm and did not check out until 8:45pm (and they we not busy). Although the Mexican restaurant experience is pretty laid back, Yves takes it to another level. If you don't mind the waiting and have plenty of time, then Yves has good food at decent prices.

Although Yves has a few drawbacks, the pros certainly outweigh the cons, and I recommend you try this unique...

We came today (Feb.14) for a lunch in this lovely setting. Have eaten here many times in the past 8 years and always enjoyed the good food, service and ambience. Today was a huge disappointment. We each ordered a chicken wrap which included either soup or french fries. So french fries for my husband and a soup for me. We did not receive a wrap, just the filling on a plate and tortillas on the side. My husband did not get french fries but soup., both our soups were barely lukewarm and then a spoonful of warmer (not hot) which meant it had been microwaved and not stirred even. The filling on the plate was bland, tasteless and covered with sweet honey mustard which was not mentioned on the menu as we would not have ordered it had we known. I declined my meal as i found it unpalatable and my husband ate it as he had just completed a 3 hour hike and was starving ! The waiter asked if I wanted to take mine home, whch I declined then my husband said we would take it so we could perhaps make something with it later. We did not receive the take away and the bill was discounted a mere 10%. .So very disappointed and will never go...

I have a lot of good things to say about our first dining experience at Yves. We came for dinner and were immediately impressed by the unique and a little bit quirky and fun grounds. The restaurant is mostly outdoors. There were 2 donkeys grazing off to the side of the ding area, and plenty of entertaining donkey art all over. There is a large fountain pool area that adds to the relaxing vibe. There is plenty of seating spread out with a bit of a casual back yard feeling. Then there is the menu and the food. Our menus were in English and had lots of variety including vegetarian options. We ordered and all our meals came with salad bar included. Everything was very fresh and well presented. Our entrees arrived shortly after our salads and the first thing we were impressed by was the portion size and presentation. The chicken fajitas could have fed 2 people easily and were delicious. My wife had the vegetarian lasagna and enjoyed it very much - and she is picky! My daughter ordered chicken fettuccine Alfredo and said it was excellent. Everyone had extra food to box up for later. What a great find. I will recommend and return!!

Delightful setting around the former pool of an old inn in Ajijic. The pool is now a centerpiece of the outdoor dining area - with multiple fountains, providing a giant bird bath for finches, sparrows, hummingbirds and other species. The owner supports a local Animal Rescue Organization, and the grounds provide a comfortable home for two white burros - Vino Blanco and Pepe, at least one cat, and a delightful Pit Bull named Rocky who will redirect you if you go to your table without using the designated paths...🤗 The food, service and ambience are all exemplary. We enjoyed cocktails of Kir Royales and Chivas Regal, their salad bar, Shrimp Fajitas, Chicken Breast in a Brandy Cream Sauce with Mushrooms, Au Gratin Potato and steamed vegetables. For dessert we enjoyed their Peanut Butter Chocolate Tart and their Lemon Tart. Everything was great, and we look forward to returning soon and often, especially since Yves is in walking distance of our new home here in Ajijic.
