I give 1 star for ambiance/decorations - that really looks nice. 1 star for having live music despite it wasnt to my taste(personal opinion).
But thats it. You order drinks at your table, very pushy about tips - I was to pay 110, told him 120 (i think 10% for bringing 2beers+open them over 5meters distance is generous😀 gave him 150 and he was like "its okay right?" So i said no, 120. And he brought me back a 20 only. Ok nevermind, pocket money, maybe misunderstanding. But even asking to keep 40pesos on 110bill seems crazy to me.
But for tacos we waited around 45+!!! Minutes, but also the guy making it was... I wouldnt call it outright rude, but im used to different behavior in services industry and esp. When i compare it to "local" mexican places where everyone is super friendly, smiling. I wanted tacos de pastor (130pesos), he said "we dont have it, only rib eye or xyz" - both over 220pesos. So i ordered that, waited 45mins and the food was not worth the wait or the money. We also had empanadas, for 45 pesos it was like 6cm long and also not worth it imo. We had much much better for 45 pesos.
My recommendation - go take a look, listen to music, have a beer or a cocktail (looked nice at 150pesos), but i would eat elsewhere - overpriced and not worth it. Also be ready for this, as someone called it here, "shark tank approach" that we didnt really like - kind of ruins the mood / nice atmosphere that the place...
Read moreFinal edit: they went out of their way to make up for this. We waited while one person in our party ate their food. The server checked on us. Upon hearing what happened, he had two different places make us vegan tacos. He did not charge us for this. Im appreciative when restaurants can pivot and accommodate their patrons. This gesture definitely changed my mind. Great service.
Edited: Originally 2 stars because they were closed before advertised (well before advertised). Omitting to 1 star because out of the four trucks that offered vegan dishes, NONE were able to make their advertised vegan offerings. I’m disappointed I came here the first time. I’m furious I gave them a chance and came back. If you’re thinking about this place, stay away!
Original review: Everything closed well before advertised closing time. Bummed because we came out of our way...
Read moreAvoid. Avoid. Avoid. Complete tourist trap. Even tourists enjoy authentic local food at fair prices. I want to support local businesses and not these kinds of faceless places, serving mediocre food and where they expect tips for no service?!!
The food was tasteless. We had quesadillas, tacos, flautas and pachucos. Under seasoned, no cutlery was offered or available, no salsa as accompaniment. Small portions and prices that exceeded even London prices!! The choices were limited as every place didn’t have 80% of the advertised menu choices.
Drinks. So frustrating. Lists of cocktails and offers to make without alcohol (wth!) as the non alcoholic options were limited to Coke, Fanta, Horchata and water.
Not one Mexican person was present. Just lots of bewildered tourists. Regretting we didn’t just do a 180 and leave...
