HOTEL GRAN CENTENARIO — Hotel in Mérida

This hotel (stay in January 2019) was a huge disappointment and even an outrageous scandal. This may be the worst hotel you would ever stay in and I confirm that this is the only place where I felt not welcome in Yucatan. ||||First off, my luggage locker was forced as we checked-in earlier. The reception desk girl (what a lazy and incompetent person) didn't want to help me in anything like : breaking the locker (so that I can access to my clothes), show me what happened on their cameras (didn't film anything to their minds so I must guess that their staff tried to steal me and her behaviour tends me to think it is usual business for them), give me the name and phone number of the hotel manager (never here what a surprise and the reception desk girl gave me a wrong name and phone number so I can call her liar). Besides that, their advertisement on the booking voucher is completely wrong (no water provided unless you ask at least 5 times, no television working, no wifi network in the rooms, no services as the staff is 100% of their time on their own smartphones it is not what we call politeness).||||I consider stealing or even trying to rob a customer is a crime. This hotel is full of non-trustworthy workers. They are lazy, hypocrites and hateable. And as I read the last comments right now, I am apparently not the only one who is highly unsatisfied by this hotel and its staff. This kind of hotel should definitely sink (I worked in different hotels for 6 years and I barely thought it was a joke to see such things and to have such a coward manager).||||By the way, stay in the region, it's very beautiful and people (except the ones from Gran Centenario) are really nice, friendly and helpful. I would never recommend this place. Mold all over the toilet tiles, filthy pillows, dirty towels and sheets, smell coming out of the toilet, strange looking tiny white things under the mattresses which correspond with bed bug eggs when you google it... These things should cover it but no. I approached the receptionist with the issues and he sent a young boy to clean the toilet again. By clean - he smeared extra washing agent on the floor which did cover the smell for about 10 minutes. I asked to leave the property and inquired about the return policy since I paid in cash on arrival an hour earlier - no returns. Money stolen from room!!||We stayed here and specifically asked NOT to clean the room, as we read that somebody's stuff got stolen from the room as well. After coming back from an excursion, we noticed that the room was cleaned, somebody had been going through our stuff and we were missing money!! Reported it, the guy at the reception is great (the hero of the hotel in our opinion), but he got orders from his boss that they can't do anything and the hotel is not responsible for stuff left in the room.
