Caracol Púrpura Handicraft Experience Center Mérida — Attraction in Mérida

Don’t bother going anywhere else, I can’t recommend highly enough!!

The most incredible, curated selection of artisan handy craft and art I’ve seen in Mexico. Beautiful jewellery of different styles from traditional to contemporary. Finely painted Alebrijes (animal carvings), intricate ceramic pieces, plus many more items. The pieces are by specific artisans (and signed) or from Mexican brands.

Compared to the other artisan shops on the near streets the quality is exceptional and the prices in many cases less. I found cheap souvenir shops selling small Alebrijes for the same or up to twice the price - the quality no where near as good.

The staff are lovely, Carolina helped us telling us all about the artists and the different traditional crafts. A big difference to the other shops where they pressure and harass...

Probably the most beautiful cafe/art gallery I've ever visited. Everything on display is mesmerizing to the eye. The bright white walls serve as a canvas to so many beautiful pieces and everything is available for purchase. The coffee is exquisite. I came with my fiancé and we ordered two lattes. It was definitely the best I'd ever had, and I've had many lattes in my life 😊. If I'm ever in Merida I will definitely have coffee here a few times. If you're ever in Merida, you have to go, sit and have a cup of coffee. I could sit there for hours. Also the service was excellent and they are very, very nice people taking care...

We were walking bye and my wife was worried that my son had missed his flight from San Diego to Merida. She wanted somewhere quite so she could try and call him. I said, let's go in here. What a great decision!!! Caracol Púrpura is not just a artisans store. But a Cafe, art gallery with beautiful paintings and mural, and top of the line handicrafts from all over Mexico 🇲🇽 The owners daughter was very nice and let us browse and take fotos of the place .My son made it,no problem. And the stop in Caracol was the best decision of the day.!! We also bought a few items there....
