When I passed by this place during the day and saw the ripped curtains, I should have followed my instincts and cancelled the reservation. Sadly, I did not. It was literally a preview of what was to follow at the 7.45pm reservation. Upon entering we were greeted by very loud, horrible, psychedelic type music, the one they play to inmates in prison for extra torture. The food was pretty bad. We had the grilled sweet potato. Bland as can be. The grilled fish was at best ok, then came the beef. 2/3rds of each piece was pure fat. There were no new fresh plates after the fish, so the meat had to be eaten off the fish plate. The red wine we ordered was “chilled” and the banana desert was one mush of overcooked bananas and some unidentifiable dough. Sorry to say, but this place is BAD. The waiters are very sweet but clueless. So, there need to be tremendous improvements. Please put up new curtains, change the music, don’t chill the red wine, change plates between courses and review the cooking skills...
Read moreThis is one of those "we do things differently here" places and if you know how they operate, you know what I mean. The servers are all lovely but were unable to help with wine. Of the three options I'd asked for help with, they were out of all except for the most expensive option. This would've been fine if the wine was what we were after but that wasn't the case. The food is so fussed over that it's shocking how bland it is. The fish we ordered was raw (our take) or had a huge chunk of cartilage in the middle (the cooks' take) so it was sent back to us cooked a bit further. We didn't bother and it was nice that they took it off the bill. We had given up on the fries when they appeared after we'd finished our mains. I would've never said a thing about this place ever again but after we were offered a comped dessert after the fish (we passed) and ordered a carajillo instead, I was stunned when it appeared instantly while we still had about a quarter bottle of wine left and two...
Read moreWe walked into the restaurant on Friday night and were lucky to be seated. You’re immediately transported into a moody atmosphere with amazing height to ceiling ratios. The decor is stunning and fills the space really well. The table service was also really hospitable and welcoming. Our server really tried their best to communicate despite the language barrier.
The food can be bit of an acquired taste as the dishes that we ordered were charred/burnt with charcoal so if you don’t really like the taste of char, some of the dishes might not be for you. Nonetheless, it was still a really good experience. The chicken was really good! We also ordered the onion, sweet potato entree, fries and the sweet potato...
