Dining at Yerba Santa in Mérida is an experience that transcends expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the astonishingly beautiful interior, blending colonial charm with modern elegance. The ambiance alone sets the tone for an unforgettable evening.

Service: Impeccable and Warm

The service was nothing short of exceptional. Every member of the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and wines they served. Their attention to detail made us feel incredibly well cared for. To our delight, the staff even surprised us with a special treat to celebrate our engagement anniversary. This thoughtful gesture added a personal touch that made the evening even more memorable.

Cuisine: Extraordinary Flavors

The food at Yerba Santa is a true masterpiece. Each dish was a celebration of bold, exciting flavors, expertly crafted and beautifully presented. The oxtail tacos, braised in Merlot and topped with pickled onions and salsa verde cruda, were an absolute standout—rich, tender, and perfectly balanced.

Other highlights included the vibrant “Atardecer” ceviche, made with dry shrimp from Chiapas and local citrus, and the creative, corn-inspired desserts, such as tortilla ice cream, which were as surprising as they were delicious. Every bite felt like a revelation of the rich culinary traditions of the region, elevated with modern flair.

Wine: Perfect Pairings

The wine selection at Yerba Santa is thoughtfully curated, offering a variety of Mexican and international wines that perfectly complemented the diverse flavors of the dishes. The staff was more than happy to recommend pairings, and we were impressed by their expertise.

Conclusion: A Must-Visit

Yerba Santa Mérida is not just a restaurant—it’s a destination. From the exquisite food and impeccable service to the elegant interior and thoughtful surprises, it’s a dining experience like no other. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, like we did, or simply seeking a remarkable meal, Yerba Santa will undoubtedly exceed your expectations. We can’t...

Yerba Santa in Mérida is an absolute gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the ambiance—a stunning old historic mansion, complete with a minaret, beautifully transformed into a restaurant. The setting seamlessly blends timeless elegance with modern charm, making it the perfect backdrop for an extraordinary meal.

The hospitality was second to none. Sergio, our server, was outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu. Carmen, too, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, making us feel like cherished guests.

Now, onto the food: every single dish was a masterpiece. The Mushroom Soup was a divine starter, with its velvety texture and rich, earthy flavors setting a high bar for the rest of the meal. The Caesar Salad was equally delightful, crisp and fresh with a beautifully balanced dressing. The Salmon Tiradito was an explosion of flavor, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of acidity to complement the delicate salmon.

For the main courses, the Black Surf was a showstopper—succulent and bursting with bold, smoky flavors. The Shrimp dish was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, elevating this classic ingredient to new heights.

The care and creativity behind each dish are evident, and the entire experience at Yerba Santa was nothing short of spectacular. If you're in Mérida, this restaurant is a must-visit. A heartfelt thank you to Sergio, Carmen, and the entire team for a truly memorable evening. We can’t...

I recently visited Yerba Santa in Merida, Yucatan, and my experience was far from satisfactory. The main issue that left a sour taste in my mouth was the restaurant's shameless 10% upcharge on the English menu for tourists. This practice reeks of pure exploitation and is downright unethical.

I cannot fathom why a restaurant would penalize customers who might not be fluent in the local language. It's as if Yerba Santa sees non-Spanish speakers as easy targets for a quick cash grab. This discriminatory pricing strategy not only tarnishes the dining experience but also leaves a lasting negative impression on visitors like myself.

The culinary experience, while not terrible, was overshadowed by the blatant attempt to overcharge tourists. It's disheartening to see a place that should be celebrating cultural exchange resort to such a distasteful tactic. I strongly advise fellow travelers to steer clear of Yerba Santa unless they're willing to overlook this exploitative pricing strategy.

In conclusion, Yerba Santa's decision to implement a language-based upcharge reflects poorly on their business ethics and customer relations. Save yourself the frustration and money, and opt for a dining establishment that values fairness and transparency over preying on...

SYMPHONY OF TASTES : An experience, not just dining. Enjoy the aperitive, courtesy of the masterful chef; Salmon Agridulece with Chilli sarano, ginger, apple, sauce joy. Then delight in “Yellowfin Tuna Tartar” followed by “Avocado Salade”. The latter is made with Greek yoghurt dressing “a la secreta” and sugar crusted Avocado, mixing the taste of crème brûlée with the smooth tasting fruit. “El Kraken”, the grilled octopus truly cracks open the tastebuds. Commit a final sweet sin by trying “Cacao 70%” with chocolate ingot, cinnamon cream and Chiapas cheese homemade ice cream stuffed coffee crumble with papaya coulis. To fully experience the different tastes, eat counterclockwise with a sip of black coffee between each of the four arrangements. To summarize, the food was wonderful and the presentation exquisiet. The only things that surpass the class of this establishment, is the elegance of its hostesses and the vigilance of its attendants. Music is also atune to the glamorous setting. If one wants to blow away one’s sweetheart; there isn’t a more elegant setting, in this historical landmark in Mérida. Do drink local wine; recommended by the sommelier, to augment Yucatán’s gastronomy high point, amplifying the masterful chef’s cuisine composition.
