Nice spot—laid-back, not over the top. The food is decent—definitely not phenomenal, but very reasonably priced and a good value for what they charge. The ambiance is eclectic, with a mix-and-match charm when it comes to chairs and decor.

I recommend the filet mignon and the salmon. The filet is a good portion size and generally well-cooked—they do a solid job hitting the requested temperature. That said, it’s not an American-style steakhouse experience. Don’t expect USDA Prime or bold seasoning by default. I’d recommend asking them to season it well before cooking, as it can sometimes come underseasoned. This seems to be a regional trend, not just at this restaurant—Mexican cuisine tends to favor more modest portions of meat with heavier emphasis on accompaniments like beans, rice, and vegetables, which is part of a generally healthier dietary culture.

The salmon, on the other hand, is seasoned and prepared very well.

One minor critique: the name Monet evokes French cuisine, so I was surprised to find an Italian-Mexican fusion menu. It’s not a bad thing—just a bit unexpected.

Service winners are very friendly as is the rest of the staff including management and many speak English at the very least understand and can respond more than adequately so you can order if you don't speak Spanish I personally do speak Spanish but we had some friends from the states that did not speak Spanish and they had no problem ordering

I have wanted to try Monet for quite some time, but friends had told me that it was not great, so I hesitated. Mistake! This place is a gem. Very pretty location, comfortable, great patio overlooking Passeo Montejo. The service was very good but the win of the night was the food. Outstanding! The tuna tartar was the best we have ever had. The spinach salad was so good, dressing not too sweet. The salmon was generous and done perfectly. My Spicey penne with shrimp was a ten! Ayer acudimos con los hijos a celebrar nuestro aniversario. Qué agradable lugar, buena ubicación en el Paseo Montejo, muy atentos, el mesero Sr. Óscar atendió muy bien, mis niños les gustó. La ambientación bonita, relajada. El taburete blandito pero las sillas incómodas, se siente la madera en el isquion tapizadas con lo más delgado que encontraron. Aún así puedes pasar un rato agradable. La pizza Cuatro Formaggio aunque no te específica los quesos (normalmente son mezcla de diferentes texturas pero aquí no), solo que son selección de la casa, identificamos un poquito de cabra muy suave entre una base de queso que creemos era mozzarella aunque pasa por manchego la villita, ni gorgonzola, ni pecorino, ni a queso azul alcanzó; la masa rica, delgada y bien horneada. La pasta con serrano y queso azul pues... el jamón serrano se notaba corriente, no estaba bien curado, tal cual lo sacaron de un paquete (no creo que lo hayan cortado) y parecía un cacho filete di manzo medio crudo y la pasta a pesar de la salsa estaba seca, se les pasó al dente y no se incorporó a la pasta. La pasta con spicy con vodka buen sabor, estaba al dente, la salsa se adhirió a la pasta y con pollo bien cocido y sazonado.
